20.01.2022 Dear clients, representatives, employees and stakeholders, We would like to provide you with an update regarding our response to COVID-19 (coronavirus) and the measures we have implemented. The health and well-being of our clients, employees, families and stakeholders are our highest priority. We want to reassure you we are here to support you and assist you with any concerns during these challenging times. South Australia Restrictions: ... An announcement was made yesterday, 18 November that South Australia will be locked down for six days as of midnight. For a full breakdown of restrictions, please follow the link here: https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/response Our Response: As we are an essential service, we will continue to provide supports to clients whilst also keeping their health and well-being at the forefront every step of the way. As part of our risk management strategy, we have implemented the following actions for the next 14 days to best support our clients Community access has unfortunately been put on hold; clients in SIL houses are required to stay at home for 14 days. All groceries for SIL houses are to be organised with Sue Crispe. We will have dedicated support workers available to deliver PPE equipment if SIL houses are low on supply. Day Options will be closed for 14 days, a re-opening will be determined at the end of this period. Staying connected: Although recent restrictions have been put in place regarding community access, we will implement ways to stay connected with clients and keep important lines of social interaction open. Head Office: Our head office will be operating with minimal staff in the office for the next 14 days. We request that staff and clients stay at home and do not visit the office. If clients, representatives or employees require anything, please contact us via phone call. The office will be open from 9am 5pm during this 14-day period. SA Health Advice: Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and warm water. If you are infected, maintain at least a minimum of 1.5 metres distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, or shaking hands with others. Make sure you follow good hygiene and encourage others to do the same. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze and disposing of any used tissues immediately. Keep up to date on the latest hotspots (cities or local areas where the pandemic is spreading widely). If possible, avoid travelling to these places - especially if you are more at risk. We understand that this is a challenging time for everyone. It’s important that we continue to work together to provide the supports that our clients require to live an independent lifestyle.

10.01.2022 Introducing one of our amazing support workers Tina and her exciting plant creations! Have a read below about what she wanted to share My name is Tina Sutton, and I’m a mum to 3 fabulous daughters who love to keep me busy. I have a passion for geology, music, animals, human rights and plants, to name a few. I’ve had house plants for a while now, but I turned my home into a miniature jungle during our first lockdown. It’s become a growing hobby. Plants have so many therap...eutic benefits, and I really enjoy the beauty it adds to my family’s home. A few weeks ago, I created Riverland Plants, and Cuttings buy swap sell as a means for the community to share in what nature has to offer us. It’s been really successful, and it’s had a positive impact here in the Riverland, the feedback has been great. I’m currently propagating some rubber plants, lavender and spider plants for our SIL clients to enjoy in their homes. I’m hoping the LAAS clients can learn some new skills whilst caring for these plants. It will be a lovely addition to their thriving herb and vegetable gardens. I’m so excited about the LAAS sensory garden that will be coming to Day Options soon. I’m really hoping I get the opportunity to roll up my sleeves and get involved with it. I love to see growth and healing, and that translates well for me working at LAAS. Working with our clients, I am given opportunities daily to support people with their own personal growth. I love being a support worker, and I’m very fortunate to be able to connect two of my passions within my career.
