22.01.2022 [HIRING] Well folks, the time has come for us to accept that we’re so much busier than we’d thought we’d be at this time of the year (thanks everyone for keeping us busy!) SO we need some extra bodies to keep us going strong! We’re looking for a few part-time staff across the venue: Wait staff, Kitchenhand, CDP. If you’re keen for a couple of shifts that may grow into more as we reach the summer season, send us an email with your CV and a bit about you! [email protected] T...hanks! @thejournalmedia

22.01.2022 [OPENING HOURS AND ONLINE RESERVATIONS] Currently we’re open for dinner from Friday-Monday from 5pm (kitchen closes at 9pm) and although we’d love to accommodate every booking request received, we simply can’t always fit you all in! We’re still operating under pretty tight restrictions with limited availability due to social distancing and have adjusted seating times and table-turns to accommodate as many of you as we can under current guidelines. The events of this year have...n’t only affected our services but also our staffing levels which just don’t allow us to open any more days for the time being, although we’d absolutely love to! We take reservations online via the Resy booking button on our website ( link in bio) with a 21 day booking window at the moment that we’re finding really helps us as we manage our circumstances. Thank you all so much for the continued support and keeping us super busy when we are open though, we feel the love! @thejournalmedia

18.01.2022 [BYRON FOR MELBOURNE] Restaurants, bars and cafes across Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers are joining forces with an initiative which spans over various venues from Friday 6 November to raise awareness and support for Melbourne’s hospitality industry. The latest COVID-19 restrictions relating to hospitality venues are having a profound effect on business and, if they continue, will lead to the demise of thousands of restaurants, bars, clubs and other related businesses, leav...ing a large proportion of Melbourne’s hospitality workforce out of a job. Byron for Melbourne is for anyone who works in, or is connected to hospitality, including: chefs, restaurateurs, operators, owners, GMs, sommeliers, waiting staff, bartenders, managers, KPs, publicans, caterers, producers, suppliers, PRs, buyers, hoteliers, baristas, marketing teams, events teams, cleaning staff, writers, publishers...the list goes on. Tristan Grier, co-owner of Harvest Newrybar says: We hope that by joining forces as a region we can help those affected by the COVID restrictions in Melbourne and provide much needed donations via Tip Jar charity. By spreading the news quickly, we can encourage more restaurants and chefs to get involved from Byron to the Northern Rivers, and beyond. Michael Bascetta, founder of Tip Jar hospitality relief charity says: It’s great to feel the support from the hospitality industry outside Melbourne. The funds will go directly towards saving our great Australian hospitality industry and the people in it. If even just a fraction of Australia donates just a $10 tip, we’ll be able to immediately begin helping those individuals who need it most right now. If there was ever a time to give a tip, it’s now. Restrictions are lifting but we are still at limited capacity, with a huge number of people at risk of not receiving their previous standard working hours. #byronformelbourne #giveatip

15.01.2022 [COLIFLOR TACOS] wood grilled cauliflower, adobo, cashew crema, onion and corn chips. This vegan number is an absolute crowd pleaser! Our adobo in particular is a moorish saucy blend of chipotle and ancho chillies with a mix of herbs, spices and vinegar. Traditionally made with nuts but we’ve incorporated a crema of blitzed cashews and garlic into the taco instead. Available for dine-in and takeaway

15.01.2022 [YOKEL WINES 2020 PET NAT] Listed this weekend - a stunning Trebbiano from Swan Valley, WA. Yokel wines is a passion project from Josephine Perry; one of the most exciting producers to emerge from the Margaret River area in recent times. Jo is more-so known for her original label @dormilonawines but has branched out with her Yokel label to support small growers in the Swan Valley region by purchasing lesser used varieties. In her true style, this wine packs great freshness wi...th only a tiny amount of skin contact to add texture and flavour. Trebbiano can be described as Mediterranean summer in a glass With the added savoury flavours expected from a Pet Nat style, this is the perfect glass of fizz if you like a little funk! Jo donates profits from this wine to the Yokel Conservation Organisation as they are an endangered turtle species in the area (hence the glamorous Western Swamp Tortoise featuring on the label!) Word from the lovely @olivia__evans__ of @fleetrestaurant
