22.01.2022 Does a "boring" business need to have boring branding? This is something that I think a lot of businesses, regardless of size, might get trapped into. They might consider their business fairly vanilla or not needing of any character, but being bold and taking a chance on vibrant and deep branding can really push even the most commonplace business into the forefront of their target audiences minds.... I recently saw a beautiful bright blue truck with "DYERS" plastered on the side. I knew I had seen the Dyers logo before, but I never really thought about what it was because it seemed, honestly, quite boring. And (no offence) but it kind of is. Dyers is a logistics and distribution company and the only reason I know that is because I bothered to google it after seeing the amazing truck. Obviously I'm pretty susceptible to high impact branding like that, with it being my job and all, but still, I know for sure from now on that if I ever needed such a businesses services, I would think of Dyers first. You might think the world of your business, but how do you get people excited about septic tank cleaning or garbage collection? It's important to know that you're not restricted to the norms of your industry and you're free to think and act creatively to best position your brand and enable your business to succeed. So don't worry, you have options and I encourage you to take a risk and show some character, even if you wouldn't expect storage supplies to have any. Note: I don't personally think any business is boring, but I know some people who believe theirs might be, and I want to show you that it doesn't need to be so! Image source: dyers.com.au

20.01.2022 Whether we want it or not, social media is clearly here to stay. But that's okay, think of it as another tool at your disposal to grow your business! You might see "likes" and "followers" as just a number on a digital page, but with the right strategy, the engagement generated can convert into customers.... A great way to stand out from the never ending sea of posts is by creating your own little social media identity, maybe your posts are consistently fronted by a high impact text slide? Or a frame around your image? If you're promoting a product ensuring you have high quality, clear images of the product with on-brand graphics to accompany it would be key to re-enforcing your brand in association with the benefit of the product. These little things can help to create a clear difference between you and everyone else. Also having someone manage your social media who knows what they're doing helps too. If you're interested in exploring this with me, my DMs are open! Or shoot me an email at [email protected]

11.01.2022 What can I actually do for your business? Sure I do logos, business cards, letterheads and some websites... But why?... This is all a part of creating brand identities and branding systems for local small to medium-sized businesses. Does it sound like you fit the bill? If so, let me explain a little. Your business has a face, and that face is your brand. While your may think your brand consists of a logo, a few colours and a business card, it should be conveying an underlying message. Your brand is really what you are, as if your business was a person. Actually, let’s pretend it is. If your business was sitting in front of me and I asked it... - What are your goals? - How do you intend to achieve them? - What’s the biggest thing stopping you from reaching them? - How are you of benefit to your audience and/or customers? How would your business reply to these questions? Those responses encapsulate your brand. Getting back to the central point, this is where I come in. My job, in the simplest terms, is to ask your business these questions, and translate them into something visual and impactful that: - Addresses your concerns. - Speaks truthfully to your audience or customer base. - Packages your message into something appealing and digestable. So that’s the gist of what I do. If you would like some more information or skip straight to business and chat, feel free to send me an email or a message.
