24.01.2022 We as humans can sympathise with almost anything. If an old building gets knocked down, we are upset by its removal. If I told you a shark died tangled in a fisherman’s net in the ocean today, you’d feel a little saddened. I can tell you that my pencil’s name is Steve and that he’s lost, and your day just got a little bit darker. https://www.lachlanmoney.com/we-are-all-better-than-we-thi/
23.01.2022 Noticed I had a few new people like my page so I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself. I'm Lachlan Money - Buderim's Financial Adviser and next year marks 9 years I have been in financial planning. Other than a successful career as a pizza delivery boy for Domino's through uni, I'm a career Financial Adviser, having studied a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Financial Planning. I was fortunate to cut my teeth in the industry in my final semester of uni with an in...ternship at ANZ bank, and was hired by Stream Financial straight after finishing my degree. When I first started in financial planning it was helping people put plans in place to help them and their family if a significant health event happened. As time went on and I grew within the organisation my role broadened to help people of all ages maximize their money so they can do more of what they love now and don't need to live for retirement. Anyway thats enough about me ..I'd love to know about you - did your career happen by accident or was it planned? #valueofadvice See more
23.01.2022 We are who we are through the choices we make daily, compounded through the entirety of our life. Good decisions made regularly lead to a successful life, the opposite is true for bad choices. Being wealthy has little to do with what your income is, but what you do with it.

20.01.2022 It’s taken me 24 years, but I’ve finally decided what I want to be when I grow up I want to be happy. I always struggled growing up knowing what to be. Which was a frustrating experience as the question of What do you want to be when you grow up? seemed to be a regular question at family get-togethers along with other talking points such as Look how tall you’ve grown, How’s school? and Eat up! You’re a growing boy!... https://www.lachlanmoney.com/what-do-you-want-to-be-when-y/
20.01.2022 Thought I'd share some rough numbers around what the real costs of pulling out some super early can be. It's not as simple as having $10K less than what you would have when you retire. I'm not saying that no one ever should access their super early, but there's a lot of considerations and the flow on affects down the line aren't nearly as obvious.
17.01.2022 I’ve always had difficulty sharing. While others had interesting stories, something bothering them or something they were excited about I never felt a compulsion when it came for me to share. It wasn’t that I didn’t trust, or wasn’t comfortable being open, I just didn’t know what would be interesting or feel the desire to unload my burdens upon someone else. If someone would ask, then I’d answer, but until then I would keep to myself. https://www.lachlanmoney.com/caring-is-sharing/
16.01.2022 Life is just easier when you’re liked isn’t it? Working with people who you get along with, having clients that like you, and having meaningful relationships with people are all brilliant ideals that a lot of us hold.
15.01.2022 I am fortunate enough to work with a great South African man who tells me lots of stories. Not all of them seem to have a point, but I like to listen anyway as he is always quite enthusiastic about them. https://www.lachlanmoney.com/catching-the-baboon/
13.01.2022 Great to be able to talk to Suncoast Business Network around the idea of leaving a legacy that's more than just monetary.
12.01.2022 I really dislike saying goodbye. I don’t like the feeling of seeing someone leave, and not knowing when I’ll see that person I care about again. Maybe, I don’t like change. Maybe, it’s just my sense of loyalty. Or maybe it’s something else. But I feel like I’m not alone in this.... https://www.lachlanmoney.com/goodbye-always-makes-my-throa/
12.01.2022 We value friends, but the path of friendship is rarely commenced deliberately. Rather than picking our friends based on intentional choice like common values and interests, our friendships start through seemingly random meetings. https://www.lachlanmoney.com/the-curious-case-of-friendship/
12.01.2022 Which is stronger? The regret of doing or the regret of not doing? Two side of the same coin. Both so simple in concept. If presented with the choice which would you choose?
11.01.2022 Massive shout out and thanks to Janis who today was able to have a claim approved for a client of mine with $165,000 being paid to their account. Couldn't go to a nicer couple who have been clients of mine for years, and have recently fallen on some tough times. The money will go a long way to helping them, and make a huge difference to their lives. Janis your passion to help others and go the extra mile when assisting my clients is inspiring. Thank you so much! #ValueOfAdvice
11.01.2022 A day in my office: 10am - meeting with an elderly retired lady who has a complicated, expensive and outdated set up for her finances. Bottom line is that she'll be be able to live more comfortably on more income and have less confusion/worry. 11am - working with a single mother of two on strategies for her to be able to purchase a property to live in for her and her family.... Midday - helping a client who has chronic lymphocytic leukemia receive payment from her insurance because she's unable to continue working full time and needs to reduce her hours to cope with her condition. 1pm - a client has run into issues with an insurance company paying a claim, with the company saying that they would never have given the client a policy if they had known certain information. Find an email from 2015 showing that the insurance company is clearly wrong. 3pm - catching up with a long term husband and wife client of mine and seeing what's happening in their world since we last caught up. Will review our existing work for them and see if there's any improvement that can be made and also work towards solving a problem that they have newly identified.
09.01.2022 It’s not the physical appearance of the future, but the emotional appearance that should matter most - Lachlan Money
09.01.2022 It’s hard to let go when there’s so much emotion and hard work that has been invested into an idea, a relationship or a job. We’re told to live in the moment, but sometimes that only blinds us of our future and the path that the present is leading us down. https://www.lachlanmoney.com/trust-in-yourself-that-you-wi/
08.01.2022 There's nothing quite like finding a sunny spot on a chilly day and reading a book! Does anybody have any good book recommendations?

08.01.2022 I met someone for the first time this weekend. We got along pretty well. So well that at the end of the dinner, we decided to shoot some hoops at a local park (this was beside the fact that it was 10:30PM). https://www.lachlanmoney.com/a-testament-to-sam-wise-the-b/
07.01.2022 Don’t let an event define you as a person, life is just a series of lessons and experiences - Lachlan Money
07.01.2022 Some fond memories thinking about some clients I have been helping over the last 3 years. When we first met, they owed the Australian Tax Office thousands of dollars, had personal debt which just wouldn't go away and had dreams of owning their own home. They were both on high incomes, but didn't have a lot to show for it, they knew it, and were wanting some advice. Fast forward to today and they are ahead on their repayments to the ATO, no more high interest personal loans and have bought their dream property in the Gold Coast Hinterland and will begin building soon. It's a great feeling being a small part in the success of others lives. #valueofadvice
06.01.2022 The regret of not doing lingers longer - Lachlan Money
06.01.2022 For something that is so crucial to our long term wealth and well-being superannuation is something which seems to be only ever discussed by arguing politicians, or superannuation fund ads on TV. The understanding of what it is and what you can actually control to tip the scales in your favour, is often missed or even worse misrepresented. It’s no wonder so many people I come across have such wide and varying opinions on something which is held up as being almost mysterious or someone else’s money. It’s my hope that through this series of blog posts to help make super easier to understand. https://www.lachlanmoney.com/3-simple-ways-rev-superannuat/
05.01.2022 Saturday night musings.... When you are booking a holiday do you prefer the Beach or Snow?
05.01.2022 Here are 3 things to know about superannuation that you can control which will help boost your balance. I’m sharing these because there has been a focus on superannuation due to COVID-19 affecting many peoples accounts. #ValueOfAdvice 1. FEES: Having high fees slows the growth of your superannuation. Being aware of what is coming out of your account, and asking yourself in the space of advice fees and insurance premiums, Am I getting value for this? or in the space of produ...ct fees such as admin fees or investment fees, Can I do better? 2. INVESTMENT: Super funds have investment choices that determine the speed at which it grows. The trade off for this is consistency. It’s important to make a decision here otherwise you’ll be invested in the default and that may not be right for you. 3. CONTRIBUTION: Most employees receive 9.5% of their salary as a contribution into their superannuation. What you need to think about is whether this is enough to get you what you want and within the right time-frame. Regular payments to your superannuation, above all else will lead to a healthy balance when the time comes to retire. The earlier you start, the easier it is.

02.01.2022 Here are 3 reasons you should book a free Discovery Meeting with me: 1. You will get super clear about what success looks like for you 2. We will uncover what might slow you down or get in your way... 3. We will brainstorm potential strategy ideas to help get to where you want to be faster Now I know what you might be thinking "hmmm its free... are you just going to try and sell me something?" It's free because I know by giving clarity and direction in these meetings a portion of you will want to work with me to implement and make sure that your goals happen. However if after the call you want to implement things yourself that's cool too. The most important thing is that you walk away glad we talked. 01.01.2022 Looking forward to speaking Friday morning at my old high school leadership Investiture Ceremony. Last time I was asked to talk I spoke about what I wanted to be when I grew up. Always appreciate the opportunity to hopefully make a little difference.
