Vores Vævninger: Our Weavings Presented by @tovepapp with the weavers from the Danish Institute for the Blind and Partially Sighted This show was such a great insight and inspiration to work on. As I'm a person with most, if not all of my eye sight and wouldn't know where to begin if it were compromised. And here were some amazingly de...tailed and beautiful pieces created without the use of sight. Not only that but the exhibition was accessible for those who are vision impaired. Braille catalogues, exhibition maps and also tactile exhibits. Too feel or touch was of such importance. So glad we had the pleasure of opening it and sharing it for most of its running time. 16.01.2022 A flash back to one of our favourite exhibitions at @ladderartspace From Pillar to Post by Carolyn Davis @carolynpainting As a landscape artist I sit for hours in nature, feel its presence and witness the slow turning of light. Each painting aims to crystallise those lengthy observations into a moment on the canvas. The paintings bring to the viewer the infinitesimal movements of light, of land, of air, by gathering them together into the layers of brush strokes in oil p...aint. My paintings record my explorations akin to a map through the passage of time and also through the physical lands both abroad and at home, from pillar to post. The portraits have predominately depicted male family members, with each relative’s portrait featuring a fixed gaze directly engaging the viewer.
