Hand made by Rotarians at "Studio HBB" from the exotic "Kwila" timber.... This timber has a high oil content and is both hard, durable and impervious to harsh weather, great for your outdoor dining experience. Please like and share as a way to thanking the Rotarians for all they do, not just for this event but for everything they do for our community. 05.01.2022 Proceeds from this premium charity event goes towards supporting the Menzies School of Health Research's HealthLAB Project. What is HealthLAB? HealthLAB is an innovative, interactive, mobile laboratory that promotes healthy lifestyle behaviours through evidence-based education. Participants measure their own biomedical risk factors for chronic diseases and learn how to reduce their lifetime and intergenerational risk of disease. Based in Darwin, HealthLAB runs in schools ac...ross the Territory, and for community members in urban and remote centres. Since HealthLab started in 2014 more than 4,000 Territorians have been through HealthLab. The team at HealthLAB have seen students and adults from the Tiwi islands to Arnhem Land, and Darwin to Mataranka. HealthLAB personalises health education by tailoring healthy lifestyle messages to an individual. By using measures like total body fat percentages, blood pressure, expired carbon monoxide from smoke exposure, and ultrasound viewings of the heart and kidneys, HealthLAB hopes to: - Empower people to change behaviour linked to smoking, alcohol, and the development of obesity and diabetes. - Involve Territory school students in active health promotion and education using the latest health research findings. and - Encourage Territorians to own their health.
