09.01.2022 I wanted to share with you one of our lovely family’s post about self isolation I have the pleasure of being Braeden’s driver on a weekly basis. I also do some cooking every week for the Jones’. Julie Jones’ daily updates about their self isolation journey are a great read. We’ve come up with a way of getting their weekly shop to them by providing Contactless Shopping as self-isolation means minimal contact... A shopping list is sent to me for the supermarket and other stores. Where Click and Collect is provided at participating stores I’ll go collect the bags. 07.01.2022 Many would know I was a Qantas flight attendant before joining the Ladies Running Errands family. What you might not know was that I was part of a very special team of crew, pilots, and ground staff who raised money for the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children. Our yearly comedy revues raised great amounts each year (been going for 5 decades now). Even though I’m not onstage anymore I follow their updates. 06.01.2022 Contactless shopping service up and running!! Armed with a shopping list and different shop names I uploaded the items to a shopping list app and away I went. I had my hand sanitiser and gloves ready. First stop - Top Ryde shops. The lovely Julie Jones had click and collect items ready for me at Kmart and Big W. Best and Less were already waiting for me with a bag of preordered clothes. ... Woolworths was surprisingly easy. Most items were in stock. Some i managed to find in coles. Others just weren’t available. Off to Carlingford village I went for the rest of the items. The cake shop, butcher and pharmacy already had pre-ordered bags waiting and last was Rossi’s grocery store for specialised items. All delivered to Julies front door (note the poster at her door). Julie then picked it up while I kept a safe distance. What a success!
