25.01.2022 Introducing kids to the joy that is oobleck (cornflour + water) is it a solid, is it a liquid? They were mesmerised for hours and it lead to some great conversation about basic principles of solids and liquids.

25.01.2022 Another gorgeous day to enjoy outside. Tackled a new craft project this afternoon which all the children did amazing with, can't wait to show the results when it's finished. Of course after that it all fell apart with a chorus of giggles and squeals as they continued to paint themselves, then wash themselves off in a tub of soapy water.

21.01.2022 Messy Thursday. Making walking paint pictures and cleaning up in tubs of water. Loving the warm weather.

21.01.2022 What a wonderful day we had today. We had our friend Oliver join us for the day and we started off in the gorgeous spring sunshine with a teddy bears picnic. The children got to use the big teapot to fill their cups and none of them spilt any! We also played play dough, magic sand and families with our baby dolls.

10.01.2022 Such a heavenly day to spend some time outside. Warm, a beautiful breeze, freshly mowed lawn and a water table, what more could we ask for.

09.01.2022 Hot weather, well sunscreened children and a slip n slide = heaven. Their laughter is contagious.

09.01.2022 We are studying space this month, today I made up some space themed play dough packs to play with. Simply space dough, gems, astronaut figures and rocks. Let the imagination flow.

08.01.2022 Yesterday we got to enjoy some hands on science with a simple experiment of bicarb soda and coloured vinegar. The children practiced their fine motor skills using pipettes and explored the reaction itself plus an added bonus of some colour mixing talk.

04.01.2022 We've had a ball during space month so far, the kids have made individual space scapes and a larger joint moon surface, they've immersed themselves in "space goop" and decorated aliens. Well on their way to graduating from ladybird lane astronaut academy. Looking forward to our astronaut obstacle course and alien hunt in the next week.

04.01.2022 Some fun with our schoolies yesterday. It can be hard to find things to fit in with the time and interest constraints of schoolkids, that is also fairly friendly for the younger ones. In the morning our wooden blocks came out to play and resulted in some very impressive towers, our younger ones had to practice their self control in waiting for the older ones to let them smash them down. The afternoon we pulled out our sticklepuffs for some craft, this resulted in a variety of animals and dinosaurs and all the kids had a ball.

03.01.2022 This month we are exploring the world of dinosaurs and we really go stuck in to it today. We used a number of different dinosaur figures, (ankylosaurus, brachiosaurus, T. rex, stegosaurus and triceratops) and used them to stamp on paper, leaving trails of dinosaur footprints. The children did really well at following instructions and leaving each dinosaur in their own colour. Of course after we were finished the dinosaurs were covered in paint and needed to be cleaned up with a soapy bath.
