20.01.2022 Your cycle at YOUR fingertips We have three fertility indications that identify when we are in or approaching our fertile phase, one of which is Basal Body Temperature (BBT), our temperature at rest. As we already know, ovulation = a release of progesterone upon which time BBT raises. When we correctly observe the fertility signs our body provides us each cycle, we have the wonderful opportunity to use this information to prevent or achieve a pregnancy naturally, with no side... effects or synthetic hormones added! Lady-Comp is a modern fertility tracker that helps you to determine your fertile days quickly and safely. Lady-Comp learns your natural body cycle by analysing data from basal body temperature readings and menstruation data. Based on your data and comparison data from 5 million menstrual cycles and 30 years of research, Lady-Comp algorithm calculates within seconds and with 99.3% accuracy whether you are fertile or not! Lady-Comp makes you aware of your fertility status and leaves it up to you what to do with this knowledge. Lady-Comp is not considered a contraceptive however, thanks to Lady-Comp you know exactly when to use contraception. Using Lady-Comp will give you all the support you need for natural family planning and a fertile life without artificial hormones. You simply insert Lady-Comp’s sensor under your tongue each morning immediately after waking and before getting up and enter the days you have your period. If Lady-Comp shows you green light, you are not fertile, and you can enjoy being together with your partner without the need for contraception. If Lady-Comp shows you a red indication, you are fertile. In this case, you need to use a barrier method to prevent pregnancy, e. g. a condom, diaphragm, or sponge. Yellow days indicate cycle variations or learning. To prevent pregnancy, you should handle yellow days like red days and use an additional barrier method. You also have the option to add ‘notes’ of your choice to each day and record sexual intercourse data. Lady-Comp is an empowering tool for both body literacy and fertility awareness, improving women’s health, wellness, self-knowledge, and self-confidence.

17.01.2022 Get to know your body better For health’s sake, let’s grow to love our periods! When ovulation has occurred, around 14 day later a true period arrives. Periods themselves can give us a greater awareness of our overall health as well. They are a great way to check in with our bodies. When we get to know our bodies and the way they function naturally, we know what our ‘normal’ is and each month we can then do a little scan to see if everything is how it should be and pick ...up on when they are out of balance and get things checked when needed. Men don’t have the opportunity like we do each month to check in, so let’s take advantage of getting to know our body! Day O.N.E of your cycle is the first day you start noticing red/ wine coloured, active flow and should ideally not come with any premenstrual spotting and will last between 2 and 7 days. There should not be any large clots during your bleed and will lose approximately 50ml of blood over the days of your period ideally not losing less than 25ml and no more than 80ml (i.e. not changing a soaked pad or tampon more than every 2 hours during the day) (L.Briden ‘Period Repair Manual’ p.67-8). Periods should NOT be painful! If you have very painful periods.. PLEASE check in with a specialised and qualified natural health care practitioner to investigate why you are getting pain upon menstruation. Just as an FYIif you have menstrual pain or irregularities, for one these are not normal and two, hormonal contraceptives are not going to solve the root cause of the problem. They are only going to be symptomatic and mask the true reason behind what is causing these symptoms NOT regulate your cycle! Period are also not a certain indicator that ovulation has occurred. It is possible to have anovulatory cycles where a break though bleed follows. Sadly we do not get the beneficial effects of ovulation and progesterone in anovulatory cycles. Are you ovulating each cycle? Tomorrow we look at some of the factors which can cause changes in our cycle resulting in effects such as ovulation delays and potentially anovulatory cycles. 11.01.2022 Ovulation in a fertile woman= natural hormone production. When we are not ovulating regularly, we are not experiencing the benefits from this wonderful event in our cycle. Did you know that ideally in each cycle we release an egg.. which yes has the purpose in conception however, did you know that ovulation is not just for making babies??!! Ovulation is so richly important it is how we make the lovely hormone progesterone! Progesterone is essential in the menstrual cycle b...ut also has effects on our mood, bones, and metabolism. Unfortunately, the function of hormonal birth control is to shut down our ovaries with synthetic hormones and as a result of this, also stops the production of the natural hormones that are made at the event of ovulation. Ovulation has such beneficial on flow effects to our general health and wellbeing. Our cycles are not only for the purpose of creating little humans. Our bodies are truly wonderfully made, and we have the privilege in understanding and learning its changes and influences. Do you know if you are ovulating? See more

08.01.2022 "Firstly, cysts have (almost) nothing to do with PCOS, they are merely an innocent bystander to the metabolic storm that’s going on in our bodies. Secondly, PCOS is reversible: pregnancy and PCOS is possible! Although it’s not easy for some, it all starts with understanding your PCOS....."

06.01.2022 "Here’s the straight truth on the pill (or any hormonal contraceptive for that matter) no woman’s body is capable of functioning at its optimal level. The body has a delicate system of balance and each woman’s system is different, but the pill is a one-size-fits-all jam. Modern medicine’s biggest flaw if you ask me"

05.01.2022 How great would it be to have menstrual health information taught in our schools! Educating young women about their cycle and conditions that afftect it (including Endo, which affects 1 in 10 women), can only be a step in the right direction.

03.01.2022 Like the moon, we go through phases. Hormonal phases! Very important phases all centred by the wonderful event of OVULATION!. There are three phases to a healthy menstrual cycle....... 1.The follicular phase which is the first half of your cycle prior to ovulation occurring. This phase can last 7- 21 days or more. 2. Then comes ovulation where the life expectancy of the egg is 24 hours. 3. Proceeding this, we have released our lovely progesterone via a little gland called the corpus luteum and have now entered the final phase, the luteal phase. This can last for 10- 16 days after which we will start back at the very beginning cycle day one, the first day of our period and the start of our next cycle. Ovulate. Menstruate. Repeat. Given that sperm have a maximum life expectancy of 5 days and with the life expectancy of our egg is 24 hours, this mean that we are only fertile for 6 days out of every cycle!!! Stay tuned for how our body gives us the tools to understand when we are fertile and when we are not. Image:@moonmagicjewelry
