25.01.2022 Check out this amazing video captured recently on a dive at 'Hiros Cave' on the eastern side of the Island! The east side is a ledge with a depth range of 10-25m and three dive sites including the famous Blowhole, an L-shaped cave with an opening at I4m that drops down and out the side of the ledge at around 22m. Drifting south along the wall will bring you to Tubes and finally Hiros Cave, where you might be lucky enough to find a manta ray or silvertip shark circling a c...leaning station at I6m. The entire ledge is covered in life, including huge gorgonian fans, angelfish, jacks, clownfish filled anemones, turtles and schools of a variety of fish. 23.01.2022 Good Morning All, Yesterday we had some amazing conditions. So, why not do a sunset cruise? It was a great trip, lots of Manta Rays at the surface and the Humpback Whales even came past to say hello!. Not a bad way to end the day.

19.01.2022 FUN FACT FRIDAY! Did you know that octopuses have BLUE blood! Their blood is copper based rather than iron based which gives it a different colour to our blood. It is also less efficient at transporting oxygen, which is why they have 3 hearts! Octopuses are also masters of camouflage, however I think this guy didn't get the memo, how pretty does it look!... Lastly, the plural for octopus is octopuses or octopode but not octopi! :D - Activities Jess

14.01.2022 The last week at Lady Elliot has been AMAZING! I've had mantas on every one of my snorkel safaris and it's been perfectly flat and calm with 20-30m vis! We've been running sunset cruises these last few days and are about to move into the night glass bottom boat window. Here's a list of some of the exciting things we've seen this week above and below the water:... - Octopus - Frigate birds - Dolphins - Whales - Crested terns - 15 black tip reef sharks AT ONCE! - Mantas, mantas and more mantas! - Giant moray eel - Starry moray eel - Ornate eagle ray (seen twice) - Whale heat run - 3 white bellied sea eagles - Small eye stingray - Tiger shark - Porcupine ray - Red tail tropic birds courting Also, look out for the second best skipper in the pacific ocean with a mullet haircut over the age of 72 in the video below ;) Alan Wayne Simpson - Activities Jess
