Entiendo este maravilloso instrumento como una parte muy importante del musico, mas alla de que a posterioiri lo pueda utilizar profesionalmente o no. Me interesa la conexion del oido interno con el instrumento, y esa conexion se hace palpable con el canto. Por eso incentivo a todos mis alumnos y a mi mismo , a cantar y tambien a escuhar cantantes, porque de ellas-os podemos aprender muchas cosas en referencia al fraseo , al ritmo , a la expresión ... entiendo tambien que nuestra capacidad de improvisación y de creación no solo viene dada por nuestro conocimiento de la harmonia y dominio del instrumento , si no por nuestra capacidad de imaginar ( cantar interior o exteriormente ) melodías Paralelamente a la coleccion Joan Chamorro presenta ( Andrea Motis 2009, Eva Fernandez 2012 ,Magali Datzira 2013 i Rita Payes 2014 ) he iniciado este nuevo proyecto en el cual la voz es la protagonista principal; para esta primer trabajo he querido de alguna manera unir en un mismo escenario a estas cuatro artistas, cantantes e instrumentistas paralelamente y he contado, como ya es habitual en mis trabajos de los ultimos años, con un grupo de increibles musicos que consiguen con su manera de tocar y de ser, extraer lo mejor de nosotros; Ignasi Terraza al piano y al órgano, Josep Traver a las guitarras y Esteve Pi a la batería . Para varios de los arreglos he contado con el gran pianista y arreglista : Joan Monne, asiduo colaborador nuestro . Sus arreglos instrumentales, pero sobre todo los vocales han hecho trabajar mucho a las jovenes cantantes, y estoy convencido que el reto que suponia llevar a buen puerto estos arreglos, las ha hecho crecer como vocalistas. LA MAGIA DE LA VEU, en esta ocasion rinde tributo a 4 grandes cantantes y lo hace a traves de las voces ya citadas : Magali ( Billie Holiday ) Eva ( Dinah Washinton ) , Andrea ( ( Sarah Vaughan ) y Rita ( Ella Fitzgeralt ). y lo hacen utilizando canciones que solian formar parte de su repertorio. es mi deseo , para aquellas personas que no conocian el jazz vocal que atraves de este trabajo y de estas jovenes voces sientan curiosidad y empieces un camino de descubrimiento de lo que puede ser una fuente de placer inmensa: Billie, Ella, Dinah, Sarah y otras voces tanto masculinas como femeninas les estan esperando""" SANT ANDREU JAZZ BAND 2006-2017
