24.01.2022 Pretty happy with the size and quality we got this year, after such a horrible summer I would have been happy just to keep the trees alive!!!! These kiowa are by far the best

18.01.2022 Scotty has been talking about putting out lime/calcium on the trees ever since I met him over 10 yrs ago. Today it goes on. Fingers crossed it does its biological magic!

15.01.2022 This time last year we were 3 weeks into what would be 5 months without effective rainfall, great to see water laying on the ground after 68mm so far from this system. Looking good for spring !!!

07.01.2022 So, I've been playing with our excess propolis this week. It's usually chaff which just gets chucked after we melt off the wax. I cleaned 500gm- 1000gm, melted it down, cleaned, melted, cleaned all week. (Propolis doesn't lose its goodness through heat) The pot is ruined, there are still tiny flecks of paint, which has become almost near impossible to remove completely. I give up, and will tincture what I have for personal use. I should get quite a few bottles. ... The bits of chaff, I chucked out initially to the chooks to see if they would go near it. They did and was eaten up immediately. Scotty had a big blue tub with maybe five more kilos waiting to be cleaned. I spent 30 min going through getting rid of chaff, paint chips, wood chips, clumps of wax. The roughly cleaned proplolis is going to be supplemental chook feed from now on. We have one chook with a particularly nasty bottom, and I'm going to watch and see if the propolis clears it up.
04.01.2022 This week's job...cleaning up the pruning mess!!
