25.01.2022 Here is the message for Sunday 19th July from 1 Peter 2:11-12. At church we will be singing the songs, "Indescribable", "Take My Life And Let It Be" and "Lord Reign In Me."

24.01.2022 Good morning, Thank you for joining us today for our service.

24.01.2022 Good afternoon, Were waiting to see what the Queensland Premier says at her 2pm press conference today. Depending on what we hear we expect that we will know how quickly we can move at re-opening our church for public services. I have a Zoom meeting tomorrow with other ministers where things may be clarified further. Its possible we may reopen on July 12th but a number of Uniting Churches are working on July 19th. Well seek to keep you informed. Please do reply to let us k...now if theres any prayer, care or support that we can offer. In The Son, Duncan

23.01.2022 Good morning. We pray that this is an encouragement for you.

22.01.2022 Good afternoon Everyone, Im very excited to announce in this newsletter that were back meeting together again this Sunday!! Our services are:... Laidley - 9am Hatton Vale - 11am Please be aware of the information and guidelines contained in the newsletter. I expect that this will be my last newsletter to you in this capacity. However, it appears that there continues to be a desire for a message to be shared on our Facebook pages for those who cant join us. With that in mind I will endeavour to record a message that people can listen to and I will put a couple of links to suggested songs which, Lord willing, will help people to praise God. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions or comments about the services re-starting, continuing to have messages on Facebook, etc. Your brother in-Christ, Duncan

21.01.2022 We made the paper this week!

20.01.2022 With Duncan being on leave and then at Synod, our services will be streamed again in November. We might find someone who can do this for the next three weeks but wanted to let you know if you think we've gone quiet (we're not ignoring you, honest!).

20.01.2022 Here is a blessing and an encouragement which we need always and especially at this time: https://bit.ly/theblessingau

20.01.2022 Here is the message for Sunday 12th July from 1 Peter 2:4-10. You may like to listen to the song "Cornerstone" before or after the message. At church we will also be singing "Come, Now Is The Time To Worship" and "Come People of the Risen King."

19.01.2022 Changes to this Sundays Services and other activities Hello, Im writing to let you know about some changes for this weekend. These changes have come about because of the considerably increased risk stemming from the young women who mingled in the community while infections with the coronavirus.... This Sunday there will be no service at Hatton Vale at 11am. However, there will be a service in Laidley at 9am. The Laidley service will be a communion service where the preparers and servers of communion will be gloved, etc. If you feel uncomfortable taking part in communion then that is very understandable, simply dont come forward. I will try to livestream the 9am service on our Facebook pages but cant give a guarantee. If the situation in QLD gets worse and we have to fully go back to restrictions I will return to sending out a newsletter. There was due to be a garage sale at Hatton Vale on Saturday. That has been cancelled I understand that the Mulgowie Markets are still going ahead and there will be a Uniting Church cake stall there headed up by Elfie and Kellie Beggs (My self-control is quivering at the thought of those yummies!!!). At this stage home groups will continue to run as usual. Do feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you may have about our arrangements or activities, etc. Please remember to follow the Covid-19 guidelines and if youre unwell please stay home and get yourself tested. If you find yourself needing to isolate do let us know as there are people who are keen to support you. Blessings, Duncan

18.01.2022 Good morning everyone, just a reminder that our service today is prepared by the Synod office and is in honour of the UCAs anniversary. Ill be back to put a link to a zoom chat at 11am for those who would like to join us for a prayer time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPIwEdc-SGg&feature=youtu.be

18.01.2022 Good evening everyone, We had a lovely first week at our Wednesday day time home group at Jenny Pearces house and Alison and I are looking forward to people joining us at our place at 7pm for our new Wednesday evening home group. We continue to hear conflicting reports about when it will be best to restart our Sunday services and so we ask you to remain patient. We of course will continue to have our services through Facebook live and we love to have you join us for our Zoom... chats afterwards. Thank you for your support and encouragement in many ways. In The Son, Duncan

16.01.2022 Easter Services

15.01.2022 Good evening everyone, You are likely to have heard that Queensland has been put under greater restrictions again. We need to be particularly sensitive to this as geographically the latest infections are closer to our churches. Seeking to be both wise as well as provide a service for our members, tomorrow, Sunday 23rd August, there will be no service at Hatton Vale but there will be a service at Laidley at 9am which will be live-streamed on our Facebook pages. If you are able..., we encourage people to watch the service online but, as we follow a Covid-safe plan we are permitted to meet and so there will be service for anyone who comes along (up to a maximum of 50) and Sunday School for the YAKS. The Hatton Vale AGM will be delayed (again) for a few weeks till we can meet again. If you have any questions or comments do feel free to contact me. In The Son, Duncan

15.01.2022 Good evening everyone, I pray that this newsletter finds you well. It will be wonderful to celebrate communion together this Sunday. Also, tomorrow (Wednesday) men and women will gather at the cafes in Forest Hill to enjoy morning tea. It would be lovely if you could join us (if theres too many some of us will go over to the park with our morning tea).... Please get back to me if you have any comments or questions. In The Son, Duncan

09.01.2022 Good evening, I pray that you are well and not growing too weary during these uncertain times. It was encouraging to celebrate a family service in each of our congregations last week.... This week is communion which we will celebrate following Covid-Safe guidelines. We understand that some members cant or would prefer not to attend at this time. We will live stream the 9am Laidley service to both the churches Facebook pages if you would like to follow along and celebrate communion at home (dont forget your bread and juice). We will also be remembering Fathers Day this Sunday. Please remember those who have recently lost their father or who have difficult memories of their fathers as this day may prompt painful thoughts. If you have any questions or concerns about the service or what is happening in our churches do feel free to contact me. In The Son, Duncan

05.01.2022 Good evening everyone, It is so lovely to be back after being on leave and then ‘zooming’ into Synod meetings last weekend. Not only is it great to be back but it’s so wonderful that the Lord has been blessing us with rain. We pray for more in our Father’s good timing.... This Sunday will be a communion service. I plan on streaming the 9am service to our Facebook pages and so you can join us for communion from home if you’re unable to join us (remember to prepare juice and bread). There is a Marcus Mission Men’s Mentoring morning coming up next Friday the 6th. This is a great opportunity to learn resilience and to assist other men who. We’ve certainly gained a deeper understanding on the importance of mental health through this year. I’ll paste below some notes about the Propel Network day of prayer and fasting on the 7th of November. If you have any comments, questions or concerns do feel free to contact me. In The Son, Duncan Here’s some information from Propel: In uncertain times we can be certain of the steadfastness of God. He is our rock and he is always at work (John 5:17). With this in mind we are calling the whole tribe to take part (as much as people are able) in our Day of Prayer and Fasting - Saturday 7 November. Our focus will be to hear from God and pray for gospel to go out powerfully in this season. It will also be a time when we can pray for the future health and direction of our broader denomination. To help us come together in community through this day we have once again arranged some congregations to lead some prayer and worship sessions at intervals throughout the day. These will be streamed live and I encourage you to connect with this opportunity and engage. Join us on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/propelnetworkau) at the following times across the day: 8:30am; 12:30pm; 6:30pm
