23.01.2022 At its meeting today, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) decided to keep the cash rate on hold at 0.25 per cent. The Board says its committed to do what it can to support jobs, incomes and businesses in Australia. Its actions, including todays extension of the Term Funding Facility, are keeping funding costs low and assisting with the supply of credit to households and businesses. The Board has also said it will not increase the cash rate target until progress is being mad...e towards full employment and it is confident that inflation will be sustainably within the 23 per cent target band. 16.01.2022 Welcome to this weeks Real Estate Wrap with Leanne Pilkington, Managing Director of Laing+Simmons and President of the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales [REINSW]. Sydney had 625 auctions this week, down from 706 last week and 528 this time last year. Of the 491 auction results collected so far, 69.5 per cent have been successful. The Northern Beaches had the strongest clearance rates over the weekend, while Parramatta had the lowest. The market has held firm and remains active, even while we have lower interest rates, low supply and high demand. Observation instead of speculation is recommended, as well as asking questions of agents in your local area for their market knowledge.

Over the same week last year, Sydney volumes were a lower 386 with a success rate of 72%. Sydneys best result was 79% clearance rate in the Inner South West, and its lowest was 46.7% in the Hills District.
