22.01.2022 Lajkonik is planning Edition 2 of the Children's Festival in 2021 - end of May early June. All children's Ensembles invited.

21.01.2022 Lajkonik wants to highlight this Anniversary in a special way. Today was supposed to be a Parish Concert at Marayong but it was cancelled as the Parish Hall has been closed, and all but essential Parish activity suspended. So there have been no live rehearsals, just whatever we can do on ZOOM to stay in touch. Please LIKE Lajkonik's facebook page if you haven't already. Lajkonik exists to preserve our beloved Polish culture, and we have to teach the young people and children all about it, by living it.

19.01.2022 Lets hope for lots of weddings next year and lots of bookings that we can accept. This year we had a number of wedding bookings cancelled due to restrictions, but we look forward to 2021 being better.

19.01.2022 Lajkonik bushwalk today. Challenging but very enjoyable. Great weather and beautiful scenery.

18.01.2022 Today, members of Lajkonik undertook a collaborative project to celebrate Polish Constitution Day, 3 May.

16.01.2022 Happy Mother's Day to all our mums, grandmothers and ciocia's. Lajkonik sends its love to you.

15.01.2022 The Lajkonik migrant archive is always full of interesting experiences and performances. Lajkonik attended the Greta 50th celebrations, and after that was our Project on the Migrant Experience, including the on-site photos in Fremantle Shipyards and Migrant Museum. Last year, we were in Greta again for the 70th Camp Anniversary, singing migrant songs that many of our parents and grandparents sang when they lived in the Camps together with the local choir, and showcasing our Polish Folk Dancing to the locals and visitors.

14.01.2022 Congratulations to Lajkonik dancer Kinga Kozek for winning First Prize in the competition for International Polish School Student of the Year. The results were announced yesterday. For more details and an interview with Kinga, see Puls Polonii: http://www.zrobtosam.com/PulsPol/Puls3/index.php

12.01.2022 Little Tadziu Kozek Age 4, brother of Lajkonik dancers Kinga and Klaudia, won second prize in an Art Competition organised by Maly Slask in Poland over the last few days. (See Maly Slask website for all the winning entries.) His little Slask figures were out of plasticine. I encouraged the Junior Group to take part in this competition as part of the Junior Group Facebook activities. Congratulations Tadziu.

04.01.2022 On Tuesday 9 November 2020, Lajkonik representatives Gaby, Vanessa and Damian attended the funeral of a wonderful friend and supporter of Lajkonik, Pani Marysia Rabantek. The church was full - testament to the many people who knew and loved her so dearly. Lajkonik will miss her especially because she always supported our concerts and zabawas by organising a table of seniors and making quiet donations to our fundraising. God bless you Marysia, Rest in Peace, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

01.01.2022 For the last few years, Lajkonik joins with friends from the Ukrainian community (Dance Ensembles Zahrava and Veselka), as well as the Latvian and Croatian communities to dance at the Ukifest at Lidcombe for Ukrainian Independence Day. Its sad but this year it did not eventuate due to Covid19. We really look forward to next year!

01.01.2022 Today dancers from Lajkonik attended the 100th Anniversary of the Battle for Warsaw known as Cud Nad Wisla. The event was a Special Mass at Our Lady of Czestochowa Polish Church in Marayong. It was also a commemoration of the Warsaw Uprising and Polish Soldiers'Day. In Australia, we also remembered Australian soldiers as part of Victory in the Pacific (VP) Day. {Photos: Renata Kowalczyk}

01.01.2022 Some more photos from our bushwalk yesterday in Glenbrook.
