22.01.2022 Halls Gap: Day 2 Wow! What a day After a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs & spaghetti on toast, we made our lunches and headed to the Halls Gap Zoo. We spent a couple of hours checking out the animals before our chosen ‘Animal Encounters’ - meerkats, red pandas or dingoes. What a memorable experience that was! Our afternoon was spent cooling off at Lake Bellfield and Venus Baths. Following our baked potatoes for dinner, we embarked on a ‘quick’ night walk up to Chataqua Peak. Two hours later we staggered back into camp and headed straight for bed. Stay tuned for some student video diaries in the morning...

20.01.2022 Halls Gap: Day One We left at around 8am and we were soon on our way to Halls Gap. We were on the bus for 2 hours and then we arrived at Stawell for our snacks. While we were there we went through a cave to the bottom of a hill. We explored for a bit, then hopped back on the bus for another half hour. We arrived at the Halls Gap Caravan Park and started to unpack and prepare for our walk down MacKenzie Falls. We did plenty of exploring and travelling beside the water. After that we went to Venus Baths for a swim, a lot of people slipped, including me. We went back to the caravan park and had BBQ & salad for dinner. After dinner we went for a twilight walk to explore Halls Gap and Stony Creek. Written by Roby

18.01.2022 Grade 6 Camp appreciation post from Mr Summerhayes: First of all I will start with the students, who the camp is for. To lose count of the amount of times shop owners, tour guides and members of the general public made specific mention of how well mannered, polite and determined this group of kids were, is an absolute credit to them and our school community. It was a challenging week (my legs are absolutely spent) and they did us proud! To Miss Crook, your preparation was 10/...10! The activities set up were a perfect balance of challenge, learning and fun. The food was simply amazing and the way you have supported this group of students is a credit to you. To Mr Thomas for driving the bus and helping out wherever possible, we thank you! To our school community, including parents, businesses and anyone who supported along the way, we thank you sincerely. This started with fundraising to go to New Zealand Camp in September last year. In a crazy year our plans came to a crashing halt. To be able to still offer our students a great experience in their final year of primary school was amazing and would not have been possible without the support of our community. How lucky we are to be part of such a great school community! Have a great weekend everyone! See more

17.01.2022 A hot one didn’t stop us in the kitchen today, Sausage Rolls went down a treat

17.01.2022 Halls Gap: Day 5 Today was a day of stepping outside our comfort zones and getting the adrenaline pumping! Abseiling was our first activity and everyone (including Mr Thomas!) harnessed up and stepped out onto the cliff edge. The view from the top was amazing and we enjoyed testing ourselves on the way down. It was great to hear such positive support and encouragement from everyone throughout the morning. After a quick lunch break we headed back out to meet the Absolute Out...doors crew for the second activity of the day which was mountain bike riding. Coming from Lake Boga where there aren’t many hills, we certainly had to work hard throughout the 18km+ ride! There was great incentive to push hard and get back to camp for the ice cream reward from Miss Crook thoughAfter home made pizzas for dinner, we had a relaxing evening watching a movie and playing cards. 14.01.2022 Look at the amazing clay models created with Mr Thomas. All models were fired using the kiln, with the senior students painting them and having them glazed and fired again through Mr Thomas’ kiln. They came up a treat and students are excited to take these home.

14.01.2022 Lake Boga Primary School will participate in the Lake Boga ANZAC Day service this Sunday 25th April. Please meet at the Willakool Drive/Lakeside Drive intersection at 10:45am. We will then march to the museum for the service. There will be a number of tributes and addresses from Lake Boga Primary School, Lake Boga Sea Scouts and the Lake Boga Lions Club. We hope that families are able to come along and support.

13.01.2022 Halls Gap: Day Four The days adventures began just after 9am when we headed off towards the Wonderland car park via Venus Baths. We followed Fyans Creek and had a late morning tea and toilet stop at the car park. The next stage of the hike was to The Pinnacle. Along the way we filled our water bottles at Bridal Veil Falls, we explored some caves and admired the breathtaking views. Miss Crook set the challenge to be silent in ‘Silent Street,’ which was much harder for some of ...us! In the end all of us earned a free ice cream. We eventually made it to the top of the Pinnicle and had a late lunch the views were amazing. We zigzagged back down the face of the mountain and with every step we got closer to Halls Gap. After quick showers we boarded the bus and left for the Halls Gap Hotel we had a delicious dinner we headed back to campus and played card games and watched Bridge to Terabithia. By Fallon Smits

13.01.2022 Halls Gap: Day Three Today we met with Ant our Absolute Outdoors leader. Due to some pretty average weather, we postponed the abseiling, rock climbing, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding and went on a short hike up the Bundaleers. After the steep hike, we sat in cave/rock shelter to wait out the rain, thunder and lightning. Ant told us the about the Moora Moora savage, a big white Bull that terrorised people back in the early days of the area being settled. We were treated... to lunch at the bakery to warm up after we got back. The rest of the afternoon was spent wandering around town and having a relaxing afternoon. In the afternoon the sun came out so we did the 5.5km Fyans Creek loop around Halls Gap - we saw plenty of deer, emus & kangaroos. After dinner we watched The Loin, the witch and the wardrobe, which we just finished reading as our class story. See more
