09.01.2022 NOMINATIONS CALLED FOR BOBEYAN ROAD UPGRADE STAKEHOLDER GROUP In December of 2019, Snowy Monaro Regional Council signed off on a funding agreement with the NSW ...Government and Transport for NSW to deliver a $20 million upgrade of Bobeyan Road from Snowy Mountains Highway to the ACT border. The upgrade includes sealing the NSW section of Bobeyan Road to provide an alternate, and more scenic route, between the ACT and #Adaminaby. Funding has been provided over a four-year program of works with the initial allocation of $1 million available from January 2020. This funding enables a detailed survey, environmental assessment and design process to be undertaken. Construction is anticipated to commence in 2021 with the project scheduled for completion by the end of June 2023. In the coming weeks, community consultation will occur to ensure Council’s vision for Bobeyan Road aligns with that of our community. A key stakeholder committee will be formed so that the processes and progress of this important project remain transparent and focused on delivering road infrastructure. Nominations are being accepted for the stakeholder committee. If you would like to nominate, please contact Council’s Group Manager Transport & Infrastructure (Operations) on: Email [email protected] Phone 1300 345 345 A letter drop to properties along Bobeyan, Kingston, Stewartfield, Ashvale, Jones Plain, Shannons Flat, Yaouk and Wrights Hill roads will commence in the coming weeks.

07.01.2022 The first large loads transporting the Snowy 2.0 tunnel boring machine components will be escorted to site this week. NSW Police will escort trucks delivering some large, heavy loads through Cooma and along the Snowy Mountains Highway and Link Road on Wednesday, 9 September 2020 between 9.30am and 12 noon. Roads will remain open, but motorists should allow up to 10-minutes extra travel time as the first tunnel boring machine (TBM) cargo is delivered to site. 02.01.2022 More support for small businesses

02.01.2022 Please see below correspondence from the Health Service Planning Team | Southern NSW Local Health District Good afternoon The Southern NSW Local Health District is developing the Health Care Services Plan 2020-2030, which will outline the direction for clinical services across our District over the next 10 years.... We understand that communities are recovering from recent disasters. We will be visiting your region soon, however we welcome your thoughts on how and when best to engage your community. Please let us know. Extensive engagement is crucial to understanding the wants and needs of our communities, with the aim to improve health outcomes for our residents. This engagement will involve discussion with community, staff and executive, health providers and other stakeholders. Community groups play an important part in this process, because you represent some of our vulnerable, remote or disadvantaged community members, who otherwise would not have the opportunity to comment. We would appreciate if you would distribute the attached poster to your networks and encourage them to complete our community survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SNSWLHD-Plan). Your group may like to complete the survey on behalf of your members. Results of our engagement survey will be distributed via social media. Please contact us if you are interested in receiving feedback from the survey via email. We look forward to seeing you soon. Kind regards Health Service Planning Team | Southern NSW Local Health District

01.01.2022 Meeting postponed

01.01.2022 ***Emailed from SMRC*** Just a brief reminder for committees and event organisers planning to apply for Council’s Donations and Sponsorship program, if you haven’t yet submitted your application it closes this Wednesday 13 May 2020 at 5pm. Details are available at https://www.snowymonaro.nsw.gov.au//Donations-and-Sponsors. cid:[email protected]... Some other grant funding opportunities currently open include: NSW ClubGRANTS, during May www.coomaexservices.com.au/community Create NSW grants www.create.nsw.gov.au/category/funding-and-support/ This year has seen the cancellation of many events in the Snowy Monaro and we hope conditions will improve in the next few months for it to be safe enough to allow some events to be held during the second half of 2020. The National Cabinet released a 3-step COVID safe framework on Friday with the PM’s statement available online at https://www.pm.gov.au/m/update-coronavirus-measures-08may20. This details a 3-staged plan for easing restrictions, with social gatherings of up to 100 people listed under step 3. The timing of these conditions will differ in each state so we are not yet clear as to when these changes will apply in NSW. Although local visitor information centres are currently closed in line with the NSW Public Health Order issued in March, we continue to operate behind the scenes. If you have any updates for your event (if it’s planned to proceed, operating as an online alternative, postponed or cancelled) or if you need assistance with information, event approvals or forms, please email [email protected].
