06.01.2022 Lake George polocrosse carnival 2021 28 teams from across the zone made their way to the Bungendore Showground for the Lake George polocrosse carnival. The weather was not in our favour this weekend with games being played only on the Saturday for the 2nd weekend in a row. The Lake George club had 23 players take to the field this weekend competing in A open, A/B women, C open, D open and sub juniors.... The Jones had a rough start to the weekend with car problems resulting in a tow truck being needed just out of Braidwood and Riley coming to the rescue to retrieve the horses. Our newest member Lauren Mannion had her first game on her pally pony Nala. Lauren was also seen cutting some moves on the dance floor later in the night. The Saturday evening meal was popular in the canteen area as the rain flogged down outside. As done on previously years a complimentary wine was offered with dinner, and this year served by the talented James & Murray. The DJ music, while very loud was enjoyed by all near and far and our bar was well patronised and was nearly drunk dry. The lucky winners of the raffle included Emma O'Shea, Adam Dickson, Peter & Darryl Sutton. Thank you to all our club members for the setting up & packing up, line marking, sponsorship, administration & organising the draw, working the canteen and bar, serving dinner, running the raffle, PR work, cleaning the toilets and everything else it takes to run a successful carnival. Good luck to everyone attending Albury and Barastoc, hope to see everyone at the next club carnival to be hosted by Yass, and hopefully for a FULL weekend of polocrosse.

01.01.2022 The Arentz family have been putting in the miles this week, first off to Sydney Royal Easter Show for Lachlan and Jack to play in the sub-junior competition then off to Albury for the junior coaching. Also attending the coaching at Albury were Jed Davidge, Collie & Aidee Thomas. I believe they all had a great time and learnt lots. So if you need a new trick on the field, better ask the kids for there tips. Results from Albury include: Lucy Arentz in the wally wombats & having... fun. Jack Arentz in the NSW 3 side, didn't win their games just gained lots of experience. Lochie & Aidee Thomas in the NSW 2 side came runners up to NSW 1 lake George were runners up in the B grade team consisting of Wendy, Ivan, Hannah, Murray, Des & Tye. Cherylee Sturt played in the women’s Bronze Bit competition and came third overall Josh, Grant, Greg, Jason, Andrew & Dan Trembath played in the Silver Spur and came away runners up in 2nd division. Next weekend Lake George players are off to "Sunny Corner" at Hall for the Yass club carnival, with the exception of Andrew Smith who we wish well, as he will be playing at the Barastoc Interstate polocrosse series at Warwick. Thanks to Louise Smith for the Albury photos. Finally don't forget to put your name in for next weekend, they are due in tonight.
