25.01.2022 Good Afternoon Families, Happy Friday, please see below for our September Calendar of Events
25.01.2022 This Friday is Fiver for a Farmer Day. As we are all aware the farmer’s of Australia have had a particularly rough 12 months, dealing with the worst drought in Australian history. We urge the children to dress up in their flanno’s, jeans, hats and boots if they have them and bring along a donation. All proceeds will go directly to the Fiver for a Farmer charity, spreading a little hope to those who are in need.
24.01.2022 Another great craft idea to keep the children engaged and entertained
22.01.2022 Today is Lake Macquarie Educational Preschool‘s 10th birthday. Thank you everybody who has been part of this wonderful journey over the last 10 years we’ve come in contact with fantastic families and fantastic children some of them which would be now 15 or 16 years old and attending year 10. I would also especially like to thank the fantastic teams that I’ve worked with over the last 10 years who have made serving families in the Lake Macquarie community and absolute pleasure. Regards Owen Lucy

17.01.2022 NSW Health is urging parents and carers to keep young children at home if they are sick amid a rise in viral gastroenteritis cases in childcare centres. Gastroe...nteritis is highly infectious and may spread rapidly in childcare centres. Nearly 60 childcare centres reported outbreaks of gastroenteritis in October, which is significantly higher than usual. More than 480 children and 120 staff have been affected and levels have remained high throughout November. Symptoms of viral gastroenteritis include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, abdominal pain, headache and muscle aches. They can take up to three days to develop and usually last between one or two days, sometimes longer. For more information visit https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/gastroenteritis/
16.01.2022 Good Afternoon Families, We are happy to announce that we will now be allowing parents to access the centre again as of Monday the 7th of September. We are taking extra precautions to ensure the highest level of hygiene, please use hand sanitizer before entering the service and of course if you or your child/children are feeling unwell please stay at home. Please use your fob to gain access, sign your child in and leave them with an educator. We can’t wait for you to see all ...the children have achieved in their classrooms during this time. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact Carolyn in the front office. Team LMEP
12.01.2022 The PS1 and PS2 children have enjoyed singing colours of the rainbow this week, as an extension we conducted a fun science experiment and created our very own explosive rainbow. If you would like to try this at home with your children, here is what we did. You will need 6 empty glasses, food colouring, bicarb soda, vinegar, and water. Lay out the glasses in a row and fill them half full with water. Add 1 teaspoon of bicarb soda and different coloured food colouring of your c...hoice. Pour in the vinegar and watch as the chemicals react and form a foamy rainbow. If you would like to create a larger reaction add more bicarb soda. Have fun making :) See more
