25.01.2022 ****Re-hide**** Lake Tyers Camp and Caravan Park Lake Tyers Beach Tip: herbs
24.01.2022 Update for Sunday. Following the change and moderation of the wind, the emergency warning for Nowa Nowa has been downgraded. The fire under a south westerly influence has quietened right down and is slowly headed to the north East. Crews are performing some burns around Nowa Nowa as a protective line should the weather worsen again. Looking at the weather for the next week it would appear a slight spike day on Friday but with winds tending to keep the fire away from Lake T...yers Beach. Miranda and Terry have returned to the park this morning. The road closure has moved from Old Bunga Road to the Lake Tyers Beach turn off. Terry tells me the park is looking pretty good, no fire made it that far but there’s a little bit of burnt stuff lying around which was to be expected. The park is open again. If your plan is to head down please call the park and ask whether your cabin is clean as our cleaners have been unable to get in to clean. If you have a site you might have to give Terry a hand with a rake as it’s just the two of them at the minute. Please keep an eye on the conditions and recommendations from authorities as the situation remains dynamic and could change.
24.01.2022 Another quick update. The park has been quiet all week with most guests leaving prior to Monday’s events. With the Premiers declaration last night of a State of Disaster and predicted weather conditions, the last of the guests will leave the park this morning and Terry and Miranda have made the decision to move towards Bairnsdale until it is declared safe to move back.
22.01.2022 Preparations for Carols. We are looking forward to Christmas Eve with Allan Halliwell and Cate & Rich. Cate & Rich Allan Halliwell
19.01.2022 Update!! There has been an emergency warning in place for Nowa Nowa for most of today and is still current as of 9:10pm this evening. Terry has spoken to me today and has decided to wait until tomorrow before heading back to the Park. The Princes Highway remains closed East of the Lake Tyers Beach turn off for the above reasons. ... The weather becomes milder for the next few days before trending back to warm/hot again for next weekend. If it is safe Terry and Miranda will be able to get back and maybe start tidying before the next stint of weather. We will keep you posted!!
11.01.2022 From the most recent update from DELWP the highway has opened from Bairnsdale to Lake Tyers Beach road meaning the park can be accessed from the west again. The highway remains closed from Lake Tyers Beach road to the NSW border. The Vicroads app also confirms this.
10.01.2022 Half way through the carols and we now have Nathaniel from Orbost giving the Christmas message. Come on down if you are not yet here.
10.01.2022 A drone has been found at the camp park - if you've lost one in the past week please get in touch. If you can describe it you can come and collect it :)
09.01.2022 Well it’s been a while since an update so here we go. It’s not an overly happy one like the Christmas updates. I’m not going to bang on about it to much, if you’re on Facebook you will be seeing Coronavirus just about every second post. So to make the long story short unfortunately the park is closed again as directed by the government and CHO. ... It’s been a crazy few months. Look out for yourselves, your family and friends during these times and when the park is able to open again we will welcome you all to book and have another stay!!
08.01.2022 Hi all. It’s been a busy and anxious 24hrs. As you would all be aware the fires took a big turn for the worse yesterday and expanded rapidly. At this stage the extent is not known but Nowa Nowa came under direct threat last night and the fire made it into Toorloo Arm. For information the Princes Highway remains closed to East bound traffic for an unknown period of time. The road has been opened west bound for people to leave Lakes Entrance if they wish. We cannot advise whe...n the road will reopen East bound, the authorities will have to make that decision. If you were in the park and left and left any of your caravans or tents be assured that Terry and Miranda ensures that all remained safe. We will keep you posted with any updates.
08.01.2022 Hi all. We’ve had a number of enquirers. The park is now open for regional Victorian visitors under the governments COVID guidelines. A reminder that if you would like to book you will need to call the park on 51565530. Unfortunately we are unable to assist with booking enquires via the Facebook page.

07.01.2022 Guess who came to visit us tonight.......
06.01.2022 Hi all. Well it has been some time since an update so thought here we go. After being able to open for a short period of time it looks like we have to close up again for a few weeks. Hopefully everything COVID settles soon and everybody can ccome on down for a break from it all. In the meantime Mirand and Terry and all our staff have been bogging in and along with keeping the park ship shape theres been a little clearing took open up the area. I must admit that the place i...s looking fantastic!! If you are however missing your Lake Tyers fix and need to just check out the view of the beach from the park, with the NBN becoming available we have been able to restart the live camera on the park website. If you need to settle your cravings head along to www.laketyerscaravanpark.com.au and click on the Beach Cam link.
03.01.2022 The chairs are out, the festive lights are up. We are ready for rje Lake Tyers Community carols in the camp at 7.00 tonight. If the weather doesn't hold we will be under cover but still on.
