23.01.2022 Today is the day... The WA border is open once again... It's been a long time coming and we are so excited to have you all back here at Lake Argyle! 16.01.2022 Diving in the freshwater of Lake Argyle with 30,000 freshwater crocodiles is a unique opportunity that only comes around once a year. At the end of the dry season when the water is calm and visibility is at it's peak there is a small window, before the wet season storms start to roll in, to experience the history hidden beneath the surface of this beautiful lake. We are looking for a dynamic chef to join the team, who is willing to work with local produce, highlighting uniqu...e Kimberley ingredients, is able to adapt to seasonal availability and produce a menu that will entice travellers and locals alike to travel the 70kms from Kununurra just to dine with us. Our market seeks all levels of dinning from a simple muffin, sandwich or fish & chips, through to a memorable culinary experience unique to our remarkable location. The applicant must have a thorough understanding in costing menus and implementing stock management processes to ensure food cost is controlled efficiently with minimal wastage in consideration of the fluctuating demand we experience. 12.01.2022 The last 12 days has seen over 2000 Gigalitres flow into Lake Argyle raising the capacity from 58% on the 8th of March to approximately 76% today. From less than 3000 Gigalitres of stored water in November 2020 (27%) there is now over 8000 Gigalitres in the lake and still rising. Lake Argyle is now less than 3 meters from spillway overflow or 100% of storage volume. With more rain forecast across the massive catchment area over the next 2 or 3 weeks we could go very close to 100% this year, ormaybe spillway flowing again. 09.01.2022 We are getting closer....... Only a few meters to go and Lake Argyle will spill over the plug..... Not bad considering we were at the lowest levels in nearly 30 years just 4 months ago. More than twice the volume of the water that was in the lake in November has now flowed into Lake Argyle this waterfall season. If this rain continues, we might see the Spillway running before Easter...... 08.01.2022 5.46 Meters to go until we reach 100% in Lake Argyle. Currently at approximately 58% of storage volume or close to 6,174 Gigalitres of Water which is more than double what was in the lake in November 2020.
