12.01.2022 There are many aspects of Lake Barrine’s history. Did you know that Lake Barrine was established as a convalescent depot by the Australian Army during WWII in 1943? These men are orderly room staff at the entrance of the Teahouse.#lakebarrine#athertontablelands#lestweforget

03.01.2022 6 days until we’re open! We hope to see you here Thank you Helen for the beautiful photo.

01.01.2022 We have been busy uncovering old histories that have been built into the walls, and discovered that the white ants had visited the Teahouse for lunch too! So as restrictions are easing, we are working to finish our renovations and develop a safety plan that will protect you and our workers as we open our doors back up. We are planning on opening Saturday the 13th of June for weekends only, until we get a feel for how the weekdays might fair. ... I have spent more time with my Dad Jim Curry looking at old photos of the lake from the early 1920s. He tells me that he used to swim in the lake as a boy in woollen knitted togs and the front always rotted out where you peed through them. Aren’t we lucky to have speedos and good stories?

01.01.2022 Come and enjoy our new seating by The Lake’s edge.
