01.01.2022 We are so proud to be partnering with Charles Sturt University students in presenting their end of year gallery to the community as part of the ArtWalk event! Meet Chelsea Collin! One of the talented artists featured "I started studying at Charles Sturt University at the beginning of last year.... My main art discipline is visual arts. I work primarily in ink, but I like to experiment with anything, really. I think I want to play around with motion graphics a bit next. The thing I've loved most about being part of CSU would have to be the people I’ve met. I find that, at least for me, art can be quite an isolated process so having people that are like-minded to bounce ideas off of and even just to vent to when you can’t get it right has been fantastic. Also, I know it sounds obvious but the amount that I’ve learnt while at CSU. It’s really pushed me to try new techniques and push myself further than I ever would have on my own. I’m hoping to go into the music industry. I get really excited about the visual design of music. I would also love to work on a graphic novel that would be the perfect combination of visual art and creative writing. ArtWalk will be the first time my work will be up in a public space. It’s really cool that with ArtWalk there is that opportunity for Port Macquarie artists. I came into visual art by accident. I started out studying film and acting, then history and English, then performing arts and creative writing. I was just sketching as a hobby, but I would spend hours and hours on it and lose track of the time. Eventually I figured out that visual art was the most natural means of expression for me." Be sure to pop into Lake Innes Village to check out Chelsea's work! http://bit.ly/lake-innes-artwalk-2020
