09.01.2022 Thanks to all for the incredible support of our fundraising campaign to restore the Superb Fairy Wren mural which well exceeded the fundraising goal. Here is a message from Ben, the artist of the mural...... "I am overwhelmed and incredibly humbled by the community support for this fundraiser. I didnt ask for, or expect this, but I am extremely grateful.... The grant I applied for to paint the original mural through Create NSW, a State Government entity, was on the grounds of creating something beautiful and long lasting for our community that would not cut into our limited council resources. The Superb Fairy Wren often appears during Spring and while Spring for our area means the end of the snow season, it is often associated with hope and new beginnings. After our bushfire affected Summer and the uncertainty that COVID19 wrought on our town, the mural was about offering a bright glimmer of hope and positivity. Given the overwhelmingly positive response, it is evident that the mural achieved that purpose in it's short lived life, and why I will be more than happy to repaint it during the Spring school holidays. I will also propose another public art related project as the funds raised are more than the original grant and will consult council to see what is possible. One last thing regarding Alex 'Chumpy' Pullin. He was a giant in the snowboarding world and deserves a lasting memorial in his hometown of Mansfield, Victoria or Mt Buller, his local ski resort. A mural, or possibly bronze statue, done in consulation with his loved ones and the local council out of respect, love and positivity. This way it is a legitimate and enduring symbol befitting of his legacy. I would hope that a local artist from his area is possibly planning this already. Thank you very much again for the support. I am grateful to be a part of this community and will continue to try and do my bit to improve it in anyway possible. Our community spirit always endures and will overcome everything this year has thrown at us. Ben"

02.01.2022 Under the Easter full moon the sculptures seem to magically transform into an entirely new event. Artists incorporate lighting, reflection and optical tricks to reveal new elements in their works set against the still mountain waters of Lake Jindabyne.
