25.01.2022 Exciting news for boaters and the wider community. Belmont St Jetty, Swansea upgrades are underway! The new jetty will ensure vessels of all sizes can berth safely during all tides. We're jointly funding the $634,000 project with Transport for NSW through the NSW Boating Now program. ... The project will see the existing jetty demolished. The replacement structure will include fender piles, a fixed deck built out from the existing seawall and a gangway to a floating pontoon. Moving with the water level, the pontoon will ensure consistent access to the facility, despite the large tidal range of the channel. The new jetty and pontoon are expected to be complete and re-opened for community use mid-February 2021. 24.01.2022 How often do you think Fernleigh Track is used by pedestrians and cyclists in a week? Data from earlier this month recorded more than 10,000 movements within a week, made up of an almost even number of cyclists and pedestrians. Installation of sensors along the Fernleigh Track at Whitebridge and Tramway Track near Glendale TAFE will greatly improve the way we monitor usage of these two shared pathways. Where we have previously obtained this data from a biannual manual count..., we will now be able to report on more accurate minute-by-minute usage counts broken up by cyclists and pedestrians. This data will help us better manage these pathways and plan for the future. More: https://lm.city/34ws9Hp #smartcities #smartcity #lakemac #sharedpathways #fernleightrack #tramwaytrack

01.01.2022 We all have our favourite things we like to do over the Christmas holidays. For many, that means casting out a line. Now more than ever we have to be mindful of the new norm and keep up our social distancing and hygiene measures, avoiding crowds and keeping updated with advice from NSW Health. We are very lucky in Lake Mac that we have such an expansive lake and coastline with plenty of places to fish. If you're looking for some inspo for less crowded spots check out some ideas at http://lm.city/3rf3bWh #keepsafekeepspace #lakemac #covidsafe #lakemacsummer #letsfish
