21.01.2022 NAIDOC Day was celebrated today at Lake Macquarie High School. Thankyou to Mr Sutherland, Miss Hitchcock, Mr Murray and Mr Tredinnick for their hard work organising today and to all of the staff running workshops throughout the day. 21.01.2022 Year 7 Swim Safety day is this Wednesday. It will be held at Speers Point Pool. Students are to come to school for roll call then they will be taken to the pool by bus. Notes need to be handed into the PDHPE staff today.

18.01.2022 Our Staff V Students sport week kicked off on a cooler day. It was close but the staff came away with a 2:1 win. Cooper Smith’s commentary would have made the 12th Man happy as he gently pointed out the mistakes of the referee and staff. ... Thankyou to Mr Newell-Swan and the SRC for organising the fundraiser for the last day of Movember.



18.01.2022 Congratulations to our HSC Class of 2020. Staff and students enjoyed breakfast by the lake this morning to celebrate results and discuss future plans. Needless to say the kids weren’t impressed when they were told Cooler Classrooms is being completed in Term 1 ... For all of our HSC students, you have achieved so much this year. 13.01.2022 Second day of HeadStart and every child was involved in STEM and creative learning. Year 5 learnt all about the digestive system and made their own synthetic stomach. Year 6 were immersed in STEM with VR, Edison robotics and 3D print coding.... Final day of HeadStart is tomorrow. Get ready for a big day. 08.01.2022 We have come to the end of a very big year. The final day for students for 2020 is the 16th of December. Students in Years 7, 11 and 12 return on Friday the 29th January.... 07.01.2022 As we all preparing to return to school, I wanted to remind parents and families of our School Shoe requirements. There are numerous sales on now for school shoes. Shoes need to be fully enclosed and offer support for students as they continue to grow and are active at school. Brendan Maher - Principal

05.01.2022 Congratulations to our students graduating from the Raise Mentoring Program!!! Thank you to the mentors and Sally Kable the program coordinator for the dedication in mentoring our students. Also, thank you to the Lake Macquarie Art Gallery for donating lunch to the students and mentors which was served on the terrace overlooking Lake Macquarie.

05.01.2022 HeadStart has taken off!! We have started today with nearly 200 Year 5/6 students attending HeadStart. They have started with the beep test, drumming chorus, mapping and maths.... So much more to come.

03.01.2022 Thank you to our HSC Presiding Officer Mrs Karen Beames and her team of exam supervisors who took great care in supporting our students through their HSC this year. Today our students finished their HSC and formal sign out is tomorrow after 9.30am. Congratulations, you did it!!

03.01.2022 All students return for Term 4 tomorrow. Year 11 will be attending a mandatory Learning Conference to commence their HSC. Staff have been working on workshops and resources for the last four weeks preparing for this event. We are still accepting enrolments for Years 7-11 for 2021. Families joining our great community are welcome to make a time to meet with Senior Executive to compete this process.... As always I’m looking forward to a successful term ahead starting at 8.50am tomorrow morning Brendan Maher - Principal

02.01.2022 Term 4 commences Monday 12th of October. Year 11 will be commencing their HSC 2020/2021 by participating in a full day Learning Conference to prepare them for the year ahead. Year 12 class timetable will be running as normal for the entire week to allow students to access staff for further learning support leading up to the HSC exams that start on the 20th of October.... Years 7 - 10 will start their learning in Week A of the timetable. I'm looking forward to another great term at Lake Macquarie high School. Brendan Maher - Principal

01.01.2022 Kaitlin Morley had the opportunity to-day to hand over her Youth Frontiers Project. Kaitlin worked with Ian Johnston her mentor, from the Mens Shed Youth Collaborative and Andrew Walsh to produce a range of switch toys for Five Island School.
