13.01.2022 As per the previous post, Lake Narracan has been reopened. We are being flooded with calls regarding the current restrictions. Please read the following advice copied straight from the DHHS website to assist you in making a decision. Who does this apply to, and when? Everyone in Victoria at all times until the 11:59pm on the 31st of May. Is this compulsory, or voluntary? It is compulsory. The Chief Health Officer of Victoria has issued a lawful direction as part of the curr...ent State of Emergency. As always, Victorians are being asked to be considered and use common sense when it comes to leaving home under the above five reasons. We are all being asked to make sacrifices in order to save lives. Can I go boating? Under the new directions, recreational boating is now permissible. Physical distancing and mass gathering rules apply at all times including at the boat ramp and on your boat. Can I get out on the water in my boat with a mate? Its a small boat. Do we need to be physically distant? Under the new directions, you can go out boating. But you must maintain 1.5 metres between yourself and others. If you are doing these activities in a group there should be no more than 10 people. Can I go to a national park? Under the new directions, parks may reopen for hiking and other recreational activities, but you cannot gather in groups of more than 10 people at any one time. Where possible, driving with passengers outside your household should be avoided. Camping is still prohibited. Can I go bushwalking? Some parks have reopened for hiking and other recreational activities, but you cannot gather in groups of more than 10 people at any one time. As always though, Victorians are being asked to be considered and use common sense when it comes their activities. You should only leave home if you really need to. We are all being asked to make sacrifices in order to save lives. Can I drive a bit further to go exercise? Can I go into regional Victoria now? Yes, you can drive to a location to exercise. As always though, Victorians are being asked to use common sense when it comes to travelling. If you can walk or exercise near your home, you should. We are all being asked to make sacrifices in order to save lives. For more information on travelling visit. Victorians shouldnt be taking holidays currently, even within Victoria. You can go for a drive, but you are encouraged to stay local, and only go to places where you can drive there and back within one day. Can I drive my car? Under new arrangements to come into effect at 11.59pm on Tuesday 12 May, you are able to go for a drive. At the same time, Victorians are being asked to use consideration and common sense when it comes to travelling. If you can stay home, you must stay home. See more

12.01.2022 After you all went home from your Australia Day Weekend celebrations, we went out to collect all the rubbish that is usually left behind. Huge round of applause for all the visitors and lake users that bagged their rubbish and placed it either in or just by the bins provided. The amount we had to pick up was negligible. Very impressed indeed

09.01.2022 Recent heavy rainfall in past days has resulted in an increase in the overall water levels which has assisted in clearing the naturally occurring Blue Green Alg...ae from Lake Narracan. Testing conducted in the past 24 hours has noted that the water quality is at a publicly acceptable level. Latrobe City Council has now officially reopened the waterway with advisory signage to be removed today. The health team will continue to conduct ongoing testing over the next fortnight, with any changes to be advised to the community. We thank everyone for their patience. Enjoy the water!

09.01.2022 Please keep in mind that I don't do Facebook every day so I am unable to take bookings from an inbox message. Please call the mobile to secure your booking. 0409010854

09.01.2022 BOIL WATER ALERT - MOE, NEWBOROUGH, YALLOURN NORTH AND SURROUNDING TOWNS (Saturday 15 February 2020) Hi all, ... Weve issued a boil water alert for the townships of Hernes Oak, Moe, Moe South, Newborough, Trafalgar East, Westbury, Yallourn, Yallourn Heights and Yallourn North tonight due to a storm-related event at the Moe water treatment plant. Its recommended that water be brought to a rolling boil before being used for drinking, preparing beverages, washing and preparing food, preparing baby formula, brushing teeth or making ice until further notice. To ensure water is safe for consumption: - Heat water until a continuous and rapid stream of air-bubbles is produced from the bottom of a pan or kettle (kettles with automatic shut-off switches are suitable); - Allow water to cool before use; - Store water in a clean, closed container for later use; and - Caution should be taken to prevent scalding from boiling water. Unboiled water can be used for showering and bathing, flushing toilets, washing dishes and clothes and garden watering. Ensure water is not ingested whilst bathing. Its likely the alert will remain in place for a number of days. Were working to restore a normal water supply as soon as possible. In the meantime, an alternative drinking water point has been established at Apex Park in Moe tonight until 10pm, tomorrow from 7am - 10pm and Monday from 6am - 10pm. Please bring your own containers. Were sorry for the inconvenience and will keep you posted. For more details, please visit www.gippswater.com.au/alerts

09.01.2022 Lake Narracan has been closed following the detection of Blue Green Algae (BGA). Blue Green Algae are naturally occurring organisms present in most waterways. ...The Lake contains different types of algae at varying levels as part of the natural environment of the waterway. Many factors can trigger a Blue Green Algae bloom such as warm weather conditions, nutrient levels, low water inflows and low storage volumes. The results of water samples have detected a bloom at various locations along the foreshore. The level of algal growth now makes the waters unsuitable for recreational use. Warning signs have been erected at all public access points to the Lake advising people to stop using the waterway until further notice. Users of the facility should seek to utilise alternative waterways in the region for activities such as swimming, skiing and windsurfing. Exposure to BGA can cause skin allergies, eye irritations and gastric disorders. Some green discolouration or odours can be expected and surface scums may affect some areas. Latrobe City Council will continue to regularly monitor the water and liaise with other authorities. Any changes to the situation will be reported.

07.01.2022 With the weather warming up again, there has been several sightings of snakes. Please be vigilant anywhere around the Lake Narracan area.

05.01.2022 Poor visibility across the region due to the air quality, has resulted in unsafe conditions for watercraft users at Lake Narracan. Latrobe City Council adv...ises that the current conditions are unsafe for users to be taking to the waters of Lake Narracan. We ask that you refrain from launching your vessel during this time to ensure your safety. Latrobe City Council will monitor the visibility throughout today and inform the community once watercraft are safe to return to the lake.
