24.01.2022 BALANCE BIKES The balance bike was designed to help kids develop natural balance without the use of training wheels at a younger age. RULE 1: Wear a helmet!! ... TIP1: Saddle height - Adjust saddle height so your child is seated with flat foot on the ground and a FULL straight leg. Eg: If the leg is bent, raise the saddle until the leg is straight. TIP2: Ongoing saddle height - As you see your child gaining confidence adjust the saddle about 1cm at a time. Doing this will allow them to scoot faster and place their feet up onto the frame platform (if bike has one) and roll along in a normal ride position. TIP3: Transitioning onto a pedal bike - Remove training wheels before your child sits on the bike. Adjust the saddle height so your child’s heel is about 5cm of the ground. Go ride!!
