Our end of year show is unlike any other, The Gov's atmosphere is perfect for celebrating the Holiday Season with family & friends over dinner & drinks while supporting your loved one as they hit the stage! Tickets are limited, please purchase early through the studio to avoid disappointment and let's keep the GOOD VIBES ROLLING.

23.01.2022 Tonight’s the big night & boy oh boy are we ready to hit the stage Here are some answers to FAQ’s asked about tonight’s Live Show at The Gov ___________________________________________... WHAT TIME DO YOU NEED TO ARRIVE? Please arrive at the time specified on both your ticket & confirmation email received from The Gov. Times vary between guests to ensure there’s no congestion at the entrance. Students are not required at the venue any earlier so can rock up at the same time as their family/ friends. Doors open at 5.30, please be mindful that no one is permitted into the venue prior to that time, however if you do arrive early you’re more than welcome to grab a drink from The Gov’s front bar while you wait. QR CODE CHECK IN: As you arrive to the venue, please have your mobile device handy to use the Covid Safe QR Check in. TICKET ALLOCATIONS: All tickets/ tables have now been allocated. The friendly Gov staff will show your party to your designated table upon entering the venue. SHOW PROGRAM: Will be printed & available at each table. BACKSTAGE: A maximum of 8 persons are allowed backstage at all times. We ask that performers be mindful of this & do not utilise the backstage area unless absolutely necessary or unless they are next in line to perform. AND FINALLY: Kick back, relax & enjoy the show. We pride ourselves on creating a relaxed & supportive environment for our performers & audience. Enjoy a meal, a couple of drinks & don’t forget to show our singers some love after they’ve performed

16.01.2022 Happy New Year Songbirds & Friends Term 1 of 2021 is fast approaching & we are excited for another year of music making ahead. To those who have previously put their names on the waiting list for a time slot with Carla, there are numerous slots available this year so please contact us for more information on times/ days. ... We are also very excited to announce that the wonderfully talented Alita who acted as a substitute teacher last term will be joining our team as a regular Junior Vocal Coach. Please contact us for more information on her availability or to register your interest. All existing students have received texts to confirm their re-enrolment for 2021, we ask that if you haven’t already, could you kindly respond to these ASAP to which timetables & Term 1 information will follow via email within the next few days.

16.01.2022 Good morning Songbirds & Friends In light of the latest announcement regarding restrictions being lifted, we will be teaching face to face lessons in the studio tonight as per normal. If you’ve been asked to self quarantine/ self isolate for any reason, we will still carry our your lesson via Zoom, just let us know prior to your lesson so we can ensure we’re all set up to do so.

14.01.2022 Howdy Songbirds & Friends, we hope that you have been enjoying your break. Just a friendly reminder that Singing Lessons at Lakeside Studios resume this week. Lessons with Gianna resume on Monday 12th & lessons with Carla resume on Wednesday 14th. All information regarding Term 4 & our end of year concert has been sent via email. Tickets to our end of year show will be available from the studio this week, simply grab them off one of our teachers between lessons. We are so excited to get back on The Gov stage on Dec 16th. Bring on the tunes, togetherness & the good vibes

12.01.2022 We have a limited number of 20 minute FREE trial lessons up for grabs next Tuesday the 19th with one of our Junior Coaches at our studio in Mawson Lakes. If you’ve been considering Singing Lessons for one of your little ones, it might be a perfect opportunity for them to come in & give it a try this school holidays to see if it’s something they want to pursue long term Please DM us to book a spot, limited number available.

12.01.2022 WOWZERS! We had our very first live stream yesterday, and I don’t think it will be our last! If you missed the live stream, that’s ok... the video is still available to watch via the Lakeside Studios Facebook page! Our video has since received over 1k views & growing So proud of each & every one of our performers, many who have never experience performing on this platform before but absolutely smashed it ... Thank you to @misskrizann & @gianna_daniella @andrew_s_baldino & @jamestsimopoulos, our awesome crew last night. A big thanks to @cw175 who allowed us to use their very cool space for the stream.

10.01.2022 Hi There Songbirds & Friends, I’m sure everyone has been made aware of the SA COVID updates that have surfaced in the last 24 hours. Upon seeking advice, I must advise that unfortunately any students who attend the following schools or have family members who attend the following schools: Mawson Lakes School/ Preschool & Thomas More College must reschedule their lessons this week or opt for a Zoom lesson until I receive further clarification that face to face lessons can c...ontinue as per normal. Furthermore any students who have recently visited the following sites or who have had family recently visit the following sites: Yatla Prison, Parafield Plaza Super Market, Hungry Jacks Port Adelaide & Lyell McEwin Hospital must reschedule their lessons this week or opt for a Zoom lesson until I receive further clarification that face to face lessons can continue as per normal. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience, but I’m sure you can all agree that safety comes first and working together to minimise the chance of restrictions coming back into play means we can still hold our annual end of year show at The Gov. Positive vibes to everyone, not a time to panic, just a time to be precautious. Thank goodness for technology & extremely grateful that our lessons can still proceed one way or the other

03.01.2022 Roll up, roll up & get your tickets folks. Final days to finalise your ticket purchases for next week’s Live Show at The Gov. Why do we love The Gov? Because you can order food & drinks while enjoying the show, because it’s a relaxed atmosphere best enjoyed with the whole family & it’s THE GOV... 1000’s of artists & bands have graced that iconic stage. Please remember, all patrons must be seated at their designated tables for this event, therefore unfortunately without a ticket, there will be no entry into the venue. There will not be tickets available at the door this year however we will be selling tickets right up until Monday, so please feel free to contact Carla should you wish to purchase additional tickets or expand your table & together with our venue liaison we will coordinate this for you!

02.01.2022 Hi Songbirds & Friends, Just an update on our Vocal Coach’s availability for Term 3 Carla is now fully booked, and there is a bit of a waiting list for a time with Carla. You can join that list, simply by sending through your details & preferred day (Mon, Wed or Thurs). People on the waiting list will have first priority to any openings that come available. ... Gianna will be at the studio on both Tuesdays & Fridays in Term 3, these days differ to her days last term so we ask that all her current students please get back to our email (if you haven’t already) regarding securing a new day & time as these spots are booking up fast. Gianna will also be in the studio next Monday the 13th conducting free 20 min trials (bookings are essential) and we have a few times still available. If you’ve been thinking about signing lessons for your little one, these are a perfect way to come & give it a try

01.01.2022 Once a singer, always a singer I’ve got a little weekly exercise you can try at home or while driving to work, or whenever you have some time to yourself & access to YouTube. Go ahead and type Emotional Acoustic Pop Backing Track (Ab) in the search bar of YouTube, listen to a couple bars of the chords being played, start to vibe with that and then... START AD-LIBBING!!! ... Yup, and don’t hold back! There is no right or wrong in this exercise, this is about letting those creative juices flow. Be adventurous, play with different vowel shapes and above all, CONNECT! With no lyrics to connect with, your are purely connecting to the sound, and expressing yourself through sound.
