25.01.2022 Dan Neubronner of Dan's Garage Detailing does some genuinely fabulous work with bringing out the best in your paintwork. This is an example of his work. Great job, Dan!

22.01.2022 The people at Sinclair Ford in Kingsford NSW are genuinely passionate about their Mustangs. The long-haired, scruffy looking bloke :-) in this video is Hamilton (Hammo). Hes very much NOT your average salesman. Check out the video below.

18.01.2022 Thanks to Michael S who sent me these Before and After photos of his Mercedes-Benz SLK. For the front we supplied a front bracket which replaced the existing plastic mounting, and a Kingpin cover which we heat-formed to allow it fit to the sharp "V" of the nose. At the rear, the bracket allows the plate to be mounted to the manufacturers fittings without drilling extra holes in the main body of the plate.

18.01.2022 Steve was kind enough to send me these photos of his plates mounted with our custom brackets new Mustang GT. Thanks Steve. :-) "Absolutely love my Lakin brackets! Thanks so much guys! . . ."Theyre absolute perfect mate, Im so unbelievably happy with them. Im so sorry its taken me so long to send you some pics."

17.01.2022 A new Mustang owner in Queensland, had the misfortune to trust the fitting of his number plates to the staff at a Ford dealership in Springwood. The letter Q features prominently in the name of the dealership. Needless to say hes unhappy with the care and attention his brand new vehicle received! Notice how the skilled technician managed to avoid drilling the mounting holes in the dimples provided by the manufacturer. . . On a brighter note, there are many dealerships who are taking their customer service much more seriously. One which stands out a mile is Sinclair Ford in Kingswood, NSW. Hamilton (Hammo) is the bloke to speak to.

16.01.2022 This sounds interesting, Kevin. When I get time Ill have to check out the link myself.

16.01.2022 Today I came across this fabulous video slideshow that one of my customers made and posted to YouTube. It shows before/during and after shots of a number plate on his Toyota 86.

14.01.2022 I attended the Dive Into Digital seminar today. Im hoping some of what I learned will help me make my page a bit more useful to people. Thanks for your part in the presentation, Joanna.

14.01.2022 Thanks to customers who sent photos of their cars and provided comments.

13.01.2022 Here we are with another batch of photos kindly sent in by customers to show their cars fitted with LAKIN brackets. Some of the photos show "Before and After" shots, and many of high resolution so are worth viewing in fullscreen mode.

12.01.2022 Mark sent me this photo of his pair of BMWs after hed fitted brackets and covers.

12.01.2022 I found this article about Elon Musk to be well worth reading. It goes some way to explaining why he is so misunderstood by so many of us - why many people might find him difficult or obnoxious. Its worth reading right to the end.

07.01.2022 I think this is called serendipity :-) I made a pair of brackets and supplied a matching set of Kingpin covers for Wills BMW M235i. Will has (Ive discovered) a full-on FaceBook page called Boosted Media. If youre into performance cars its well worth a look. Anyway, the long and the short of it is that Will made a video, while he was fitting his plates ,and shared it with me a short while ago. Thanks a lot Will! Anyone whos seen my own fitting video on the www.lakinplates.com.au site cant help but notice that Will is better at making videos than Phil is :-)

06.01.2022 A customer asked me for some brackets for a vehicle I havent previously measured, so I started where I usually start; finding photos of the car so I know what to look for in a dealership - then I can take some accurate measurements etc. Anyway, I came across this interesting photography site. I found out a few tricks I didnt know about for photographing moving cars.

06.01.2022 Tesla released the Model S in Australia just a few days before Christmas 2014. This is such FABULOUS news that its prompted me to make my first post in over two years! Michael (Tesla owner) sent me these two photos of his LAKIN bracket and number plate. The third photo is from his forum post at www.teslamotorsclub.com

06.01.2022 I loved your pulled pork tacos Eliza. The swing band was excellent and the kids from Slipstream Circus did a pretty good job of their fire display!

06.01.2022 I liked Sylvia's comment; "Many people thought you’ve got to have special infrastructure or Tesla Superchargers or some fancy thing like a service station down the road, but you don’t. If the lights are on, you can charge, can’t you? This totally refutes the lie, perpetrated by so many (including our government) that we're not ready for EVs. For more than 90% of our annual travel, an EV can be fully charged every morning by simply plugging into household power in the evening (you know. . . like you do with your smart phone!) The infrastructure is already there. At the moment, for longer trips (your annual, round Australia jaunt!) there's some work to be done, from a convenience point of view. Something governments in countries, other than Australia, seem to have managed to get their heads around fairly easily. . .

04.01.2022 I just found this image on the VWGolf.net.au forum. It shows one of our brackets, but what struck me was the very neat blended effect on the bonnet. This is the link to the post on the forum: http://www.vwgolf.net.au/showthread.php

02.01.2022 Hi Philip, Just a follow up to thank you for helping me with the custom plate mounting on my BMW 530D. See pic attached showing the result of the front plate. Im VERY happy with it muuuuch better than before... Cheers,... Dave See more
