22.01.2022 Hello Everyone I hope that you are all enjoying the school holidays. By now you will have all seen or heard the news that the State Government have put in place some additional restrictions for the Metropolitan area of Melbourne. There will be no change for students at Lal Lal PS at this stage. We will recommence face-to-face schooling for all students on 13th July. When I receive more information from the department I will let you know. Enjoy the last feed of holidays. ... See you Monday. Stay safe Siobhan Principal
18.01.2022 Screams of delight were heard all over Lal Lal this morning as the students entered school. Big smiles covered the student’s faces as they reconnected with friends and teachers. Everyone had a fun first day back.
17.01.2022 Parents deserve some down time these holidays. Pop down to our new Street Library in Lal Lal. You will find it just in front of the hall. You can take a book, read it and then return it. You might even like to add to Spoonville. (Spare wooden spoons can be found in the scho letter box) A huge shout out to Doug and his assistant Carol for the amazing job building the library for the community. Thanks so much.
17.01.2022 The staff were very overwhelmed this morning when we arrived at school. What a beautiful act of kindness. It shows the true community spirit.
17.01.2022 Today is RU OK?Day. It’s our national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, Are you OK? if someone in your world is struggling with life’s ups and downs. You don’t have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says they’re not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before they’re in crisis, which can make a really positive difference to their life. A conversation... could change a life. Learn what to say after R U OK at www.ruok.org.au https://youtu.be/erHLP29tzPE

16.01.2022 Lal Lal Primary School was very fortunate a few weeks ago to be involved in the global Greening the World project. The project involved children's choirs from around the world singing Tree by Tree by Tree - and compilation video will be shown during Earth Day in the US this April online now of course. This project of Green World Campaign was produced by partners Compassionate Ballarat, Lal Lal Primary School, Parks Victoria and Yum Studio. Please spend five minutes watching this video as I think you will agree it is very special indeed.

If you would like to contribute to our display that would be wonderful. Paper can be found in the schools letter box and completed cranes can be returned here as well.
12.01.2022 On Wednesday it was National Stimulus Story time. The students read the book Chicken Divas. Then the senior students learnt a jazz song that Mrs Lyons composed and the junior students learnt the first page in Auslan. Lots of fun was had. All the students were amazing. #NSS

09.01.2022 Last Friday the years 3 to 6 students competed in the cross country at Russell Square against the other small schools in the area. It was a perfect day for running. All students gave it their best and most importantly didn’t give up. Well done to everyone but special mention to our place getters.

03.01.2022 Term 1 has now finished and holidays are well underway. On behalf of all us at Lal Lal , I wanted to thank our parents/carers and students for your support and understanding over the last week of term. The staff are excited with this opportunity to undertake learning from home, but at the same time very understanding of how many are struggling either financially or otherwise. We hope everyone is coping ok with self isolation. ... Throughout the holidays I will be sharing different activities that occurred the term. Take care and stay healthy.

02.01.2022 Today was Principal’s Day. Our amazing school community spoilt me no end. The students and staff team surprised me with flowers, very beautiful cards with very thoughtful messages and lots of lovely messages on WebEx this morning. Then this afternoon I was speechless when the most incredible bunch of flowers was delivered from the community. I am incredibly blessed to lead a fantastic staff team, splendid school community and the most amazing children. The village makes my job easy and a joy to come to work every day. Thank you
