19.01.2022 Today is Unicorn Day! 'Unicorns don't love rainbows' by Emma Adams is a brand new book in our collection - https://bit.ly/2OsXYMf I do not like smiling, I do not like cake, I do not like ice cream (makes my tummy ache). I stomp over rainbows and will not say Whoop! (and don't talk to me about unicorn poop). If you think that all unicorns love rainbows then think again, because this unicorn most certainly doesn't! In fact, there are a lot of things he doesn't like, and he's go...ing to tell you all about it... So get ready, because you're about to meet a unicorn who truly stands out from the crowd. Five facts about unicorns: 1. A baby unicorn is called a foal or a sparkle. 2. The word unicorn means one-horn and they often have purple eyes. 3. The Ancient Greeks were the first ones to write about unicorns. They are also mentioned in many Asian and European myths. The unicorn is the official animal of Scotland. 4. Unicorns don’t actually need to eat as they absorb the sun’s energy through their horns. 5. Their horns have powers to heal wounds and sickness. #books #unicorn #YPRL #libraries #rainbow

One of the first origin...al conventions for anime was Comiket, which started in 1975 with around 700 people in Tokyo. Anime has been around a lot longer than that, with one of the first considered animes to have existed since the early 1900’s.
