19.01.2022 Is the idea of 'above the fold' a myth? 1990s web designers would stand by this statement. The inter-web was new and user scrolling was a concern, so get it all in above the fold. But our recent poll on the importance of the homepage banner suggests times have changed.... 50% of you scroll too quick to really take notice of the carefully crafted message that sits in the hero banner. As consumers we're now used to scrolling (so much so we get RSI in our thumbs). It's a subconscious habit, so the latest challenge is not cramming everything above the fold. It's just getting the user to click.
