11.01.2022 Orphan lambs for good homes - giving young children the responsibility and joy of rearing a baby orphan lamb (it may help them and you not going stir crazy!) Lambing time is starting here in earnest at ‘Seven Oaks’ Kilmore East and will go on for two months with 3000 ewes giving birth to singles twins and triplets! Sadly about 2% become mis mothered for all sorts of reasons and wander around bleating out for their mothers! If they are not rescued, they die by the followin...g day of starvation or fox predation. Sadly, I had started the awful and painful ordeal of putting these orphans down ( due to the Covid lockdown) but my grandchildren heard of this and took 2 lambs with another family taking 5 lambs- but more homes are needed. I have been giving orphans away for about 20 years now. Twice daily shepherding ( morning and night) gives me the opportunity to find these day olds but they do need handfeeding with Lamb milk replacer every three -8 hours. ( I hear Milk Powder Maxcare 0439773145 Lamb Milk Replacer Tom Newton is very good - try to get one with probiotics which will cost more) and that’s something I just can’t find time for so I am happy to give the lambs away - about 1-3 a day. Most of the lambs have had a first drink of colostrum from their mothers. These White Suffolk Cross Meat lambs will be advertised / put on this Facebook page and the rule is first in first served- pick up immediately or within 2 hours. There is no limit on how many lambs you have- I just need to know that they will have a good life! Covid Stage 3 As it is under the essential services category of farming and animal welfare, you should be exempt to drive out ( wearing mask) and get your lamb from the woolshed direct without my physical presence. ? You need to check this legality yourself - I found the Covid Hot line hopeless last night and local Kilmore police couldn’t tell me much either. Whatever you do, check it out and advise us on this page. You are responsible to buy your own milk powder ( about $60) and bottle/ teat ($1) at say Rodwells kilmore 57821266 or Southside Stockfeeds 57822866 Kilmore You MUST buy a satchel of electrolytes as well to keep handy (to pump those fluids into it) for fear that your lamb accidentally ingests it’s own faeces and ecoli infection / diarrhoea takes hold. ( This rarely happens when the lamb is kept on clean grass ) A hot water bottle under straw at night keeps them warm outside- last feed should be at say 9 pm and first feed 7 am If your kids outgrow the lamb/s , you can return them back to the farm in 5 -6 weeks when they go completely on grass. Please DO NOT phone me or text now - just wait until there is an offer and respond IMMEDIATELY if you can come out and pick up within the hour. Thank you for reading- animal welfare must go on while the world focusses on Covid! Kevin

07.01.2022 Remember THIS WOMAN Look at this woman - Let us never forget! The world hasn't just become wicked...it's always been wicked.... The prize doesn't always go to the most deserving. Her name is Irena Sendler She Died 12 May 2008 (aged 98) in Warsaw, Poland During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto, as a plumbing/sewer specialist. She had an 'ulterior motive'. She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews (being German). Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger children). She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the infants' noises. During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 children/infants. She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family. Most had been gassed. Those children she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted. Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected. President Obama won one year before becoming President for his work as a community organizer for ACORN Al Gore won also --- for a slide show on Global Warming. In MEMORIAM - 63 YEARS LATER We're doing our small part by posting this message. I hope you'll consider doing the same... It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This posting stands as a memorial chain, in memory of the six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated! Now, more than ever, with Iran, and others, claiming the HOLOCAUST to be 'a myth'. It's imperative to make sure the world never forgets, because there are others who would like to do it again. Share this posting and be a link in the memorial chain and help us distribute it around the world. It will only take you a minute to pass this along...
