24.01.2022 Our new mate Smithy came to be a member of the farm house last Sunday during the cold weather. About three attempts to get him back to mum but he was too happy going off by himself. Thomas and Hugo are very excited about their pet lamb and we are sure it won’t be long before Smithy will be pushing them over for his bottle.

18.01.2022 Lampata Poll Merinos are pleased to offer 495 1.5yo Poll Merino Ewes in the Annual Lameroo Off Shear Sale on October 9 2020. 495 Lampata born, Lampata bred 1.5 year old ewes are drafted into lines. Draft 1: 265 first draft ewes averaging 59kg. Draft 2: 230 ewes averaging 52kg.... All ewes are index performance bred and tested using 6%DP index for over 40years. Their average fleece weight is 7.5kg over 12 months with 62mm staple length at 6 months. They are a genuine May 2019 drop line. September shorn 1.5 year old ewes. 65% are of multiple birth. Lampata Poll Merinos have been breeding large framed, high performing maternal merinos for over 100 years. 15.01.2022 We would like to congratulate clients on the success of their ewe sales at the Pinnaroo Offshears market 18/09/20 Knight Family Trust, Peake, second top price with 253 April/May 2019 drop ewes making $302. And SA & SK Shaw, Barmera with 71 3.5yo Lampata/Glenlea Park $254, and SA & SK Shaw, RL Flack, Berri, with 86 4-5 1/2yo ewes making $222. This shows the demand for Lampata genetics for their maternal and growth ability. Proving the ability these sheep have preform grow and breed. A true multi trait merino.

15.01.2022 Was that time of the year for the lucky sires getting dropped off with there girlfriends. We made the most of the wet weather on Tuesday and they set off on pursuing their newest romances. All the stock are in great condition so we are optimistic of getting some excellent conception rates and weaning a power of lambs in 2021.

14.01.2022 Today we have done something for the first time and had some of our chaff cart heaps baled. This will be used in the containment pen feeding rations and to help drought proof ourselves with extra fodder.

08.01.2022 Last night we had a great loss with our beautiful Cali getting hit and killed on the road at the end of our drive. She had been a special dog to us coming all the way from Mt Victor via Yunta when Courtney worked up there with one of her great friends Kelsey which she whilst there. Then Cali and Courtney moved to live back at Lameroo with Robert. Cali has a great back story and will be greatly missed by all of us and the team. RIP you beautiful pup.

06.01.2022 Luckily getting the last of our hay wrapped up for 2020. Yields have excelled expectations, but quality could yet be less than hoped, with the large amount of rain we have had in the recent few weeks. None the less this will be very valuable to us next season when we are lambing and/or containment feeding stock, and there is a late break in the season. Fingers crossed this isn’t not the case and the rains keep coming.

05.01.2022 Another very cold start to day two of lamb marking. We are very fortunate to be getting a great lambing with the great start we have had this season. With a bit more luck we should have a great drop of lambs to select from for 2021 ram and ewe sales.
