24.01.2022 We have made a start on the Japanese gardens reroof job. Started of a little slow due to the tile being laid opposite to Australian roof tiles and that there is a decorative eave tile with starting and finishing hip cuts. This mean not only do we have to gauge the roof from bottom to top but also left to right. 17.01.2022 These Skydome Dayray hybrid skylights are half the size of a traditional solar tubes and twice as bright. With a light instead of a tube means there will be no bugs caught in the defuser and a small solar panel on the roof means there is no penetration reducing any risk of a potential leak. 14.01.2022 When solar installers attack. We went to 3 different homes in the last 2 days to locate leaks and all 3 were from poor solar installation. I feel it would be more beneficial financially for the home owner to take the day off work to watch and make sure that the solar installer replaces any tiles they may break. That way the home owner would not have to pay me to pull the solar off the roof to fix the leak and have a plasterer replace the ceiling. ... #knowyourtradesman #itsnothardtodoaqualityjob See more

Weve been catching up on some toolbox talks lately just the usual stuff about lifting, ladder safety, covid and PPE. This week we discussed mental health with the past 12 months being so crazy with reroofing the Cowra Japanese gardens testing us physically and mentally, Covid shutting down all the things that we use to reset ourselves but providing us with bulk work but the weather holding us back... from hooking in and having a solid crack at it. The much needed rain is a god send to many. Life has many highs and lows. 08.01.2022 Not all tradespeople are created equally. I went back to a job after the solar was installed to take down the safety rail only to find that the solar installers had left tiles pushed up everywhere. Most I was able to fix but the ones under the solar panels will need an electrician to remove the solar to access the tiles. Most of these installers are only in town for a few days then move on, so getting them to fix the problems they create is impossible.
