25.01.2022 Thank you so much to the fabulous families of LPS for your gifts of appreciation. Your delicious goodies have lifted the spirits of the staff on-site and brought a smile to our faces. We are missing our students and families and looking forward to the end of remote learning. Wishing you all the best. THANK YOU!!

24.01.2022 SAKG cooking classes started back today with our preps making spinach & ricotta gnocchi and potato gnocchi. It was great to be back in the Wil-im-ee Moor-ing Centre seeing our happy preps in the kitchen again. The students enjoyed tasting the gnocchi along with a tomato passata and spring onion sauce.

24.01.2022 The grade 4 students finished setting up our new subpod worm composting system in SAKG gardening today. The students filled the subpod with the ripped cardboard box the subpod was delivered in. They then emptied the worms and castings from the current worm farm on top of the cardboard (and found lots of baby worms). The area around the subpod was then filled with the compost collected from our old system. Finally the students planted some seedlings around the subpod. 4NJ will be watching with great interest to see what the worms get up to over the coming weeks.

18.01.2022 During remote learning LPS celebrates 'Wellbeing Wednesday'. 'Wellbeing Wednesday' is all about families looking after each other through shared activities and a chance to recharge the batteries. Teachers are thoroughly enjoying hearing about and seeing the creative ways are students are looking after themselves. Lots of students are learning new skills and developing new interests. Thank you to all of our parents and carers for leading the charge on 'Wellbeing Wednesday' and ensuring that kids are engaged and having so much fun. Here are a few of the activities that students have participated in.

17.01.2022 2021 Prep transition. It has been so lovely to meet all of our Preps for 2021 during our first 2 transition sessions. Yesterday was ‘Bring Your Teddy’ day. Our new students had fun making and colouring in their split pin bears. Andrew and Travis our prep teachers for 2021 were very excited to bring their teddies to school also . Our next three transitions sessions will give our new preps the opportunity to come to school by themselves in small groups of 10. During these sessions students will be investigating the school yard, including visiting our chickens and Stephanie Alexander Kitchen vegetable gardens, doing a Christmas craft activity and completing a literacy activity.

15.01.2022 100 days of Prep . It's taken a little longer than usual but today marks 100 days of prep at LPS in 2020! The students are doing 100 different activities throughout the day and are currently up to number 71!!

14.01.2022 During remote learning the Prep and Grade One students have been continuing with the SAKG program. In the garden students have been observing soil life. Students have been searching for mini beasts and found worms, grubs, millipedes, butchy boys, spiders and even a baby snake! The students learnt how worms help our soil to improve and when the soil is healthy, we can grow healthy plants. Look how much fun we had! In the kitchen students baked Banana and Oat Biscuits. These biscuits are nutritious, as well as very delicious, made with no flour - just oats.

14.01.2022 Students in PAH and 1T have been having a fabulous time playing and learning with the Evidence Base Learning (EBL) program. Different activities are set up each week. They have also had a great time working in their construction zone.

01.01.2022 During remote learning staff at LPS while have been busy reorganising, creating and updating various spaces within the school to get ready for our students to return to on-site learning. The atrium has been converted into a 'librarium' with novels, big books, fiction and some non-fiction now categorised and ready for students to read. Our kitchen garden now has a fabulous green house and the gardens are full of flowers, various herbs and veggies ready for our SAKG program to restart. We have some new chicken friends and their coop now has two jungle gyms, lots of tyre dust baths, raised grazing seed frames, new plants to keep them healthy. They are looking forward to meeting the chicken group and all of the students at LPS.
