25.01.2022 3 WEEKS TO COLOUR BLAST We're nearly sold out and there's still 3 weeks to go until the 2nd Colour Blast run/walk/crawl along Lancelin Beach. Sat March 4th will... see 1,000 people eager to get hot and dirty as they pass through a number of stations where they'll covered in colour powder and at fraction of the cost of the big events in the city. Register here and straight away - https://www.lancelin.com.au/product/ldca-colour-blast/ for a great day out. Remember to pre-order your t-shirt and cap too as we'll have no spares on the day. You can also order your after-event lunch at the Tavern on the registration page. Last year's event sold out 4 days prior to the day and this year we've upped the number of starters by a factor of 3 so expect a huge day!
25.01.2022 FUN ON THE DUNES Lancelin's dunes are a magnet for all sorts of 4WDs. A reminder though that the front dunes are for sand boarding and as such, vehicles are asked to keep a safe distance from those on foot.

Entrants pass through a number of stations where they wade through foam and are showered with non-toxic coloured powder. Then its off to the Tavern for lunch (pre-order that when you register on line). Save money by booking now at the earlybird rate. Once 50% of the tickets have been sold the rate goes up. The run is presented by the Lancelin District Community Association (LDCA), the Endeavour Tavern and Offshore Cafe.
25.01.2022 LOCAL CRAYFISHERMEN SPEAK UP Almost every WA crayfisherman has signed up to an advertising campaign that kicks off today, including Lancelin great Clint Moss. Generations of hardworking WA families have built this industry up over 70 years. Its a major employer, the backbone of many small towns up and down the coast, and a world leader in sustainability, Mr Moss said.... With three weeks notice, no real consultation, and no sound justification Fisheries Minister David Kelly, walks in like a bull in a China shop and wants to upend the industry. This is a business that employs more West Australians than the big four banks, creates thousands of jobs in the regions, attracts tourists, and suddenly David Kelly decides the government will take nearly 20 per cent for itself. Weve worked well together with government for all our history. What industry is next? Were not going to sit back and see one of the states best run, most iconic industries ruined by government ideology. Fishing families are putting their money into this campaign and we are running fundraisers to let the community join in, Mr Moss said. Under David Kelly's plans: The State Government will increase the rock lobster quota by a staggering 27 per cent from 6,300 tonnes to 8,000 tonnes but keep 17.3 per cent of that for itself to lease or sell to the private sector. This will instantly dilute every current unit holders stake and devalue their businesses. The sustainability of the industry, and its international sustainable accreditation will be placed at risk Major banks have already raised concerns with the government, and are reviewing fishing family businesses Rights-based management of fisheries throughout Australia will be destroyed. This type of government ownership and its international sustainable accreditation will be placed at risk Major banks have already raised concerns with the government, and are reviewing fishing family businesses Rights-based management of fisheries throughout Australia will be destroyed. This type of government ownership undermines the confidence and property rights nationally in all fisheries licences and permits, which means the other issue for the state is sovereign risk There will be less catch available for recreational lobster fishers Mr Moss said there are many ways the government can get a higher return from the industry without putting the whole industry at risk. Our industry was built by hard working West Australians. For the sake of the industry, the thousands of people it employs, and for the families who have built it over generations, we ask Mr Kelly to re-think his plan and sit down and talk to the industry and have a proper consultation process, Mr Moss said. Fishing Families WA is working closely with and in support of WRL Council. Industry is united in its fight against this government's cash grab. Website: https://fishingfamilieswa.org.au/
24.01.2022 BACK TO NATURE The dunes just behind the town of Lancelin (85 mins north of Perth) are indeed unique. They stretch for kilometres and access to the dunes is completely free. While a few do set up a brolly and enjoy the view that's really only possible In the morning before the sea breeze kicks in.... By far and away the most popular activity is sand boarding and people come from around the world to give it a go. If you're coming, it's important to book your board prior to arrival by clicking here - https://www.lancelin.com.au/prod/sandboard-rental-bookings/ - you can do it via your smartphone on the way up. Your receipt will provide details of the collection point. It's just $12 for up to 2.5 hours and it's open to anyone, you need no special skills or training.
23.01.2022 WHAT WAS THIS CHAP THINKING? Taking a Hyundai 2WD people mover onto the soft sand at Lancelin's dunes is asking for trouble. This vehicle quickly came to a grinding halt a couple of weeks ago and there it sat for some time until he grabbed the attention of a passer-by and asked to borrow his Max Trax (the orange thing seen here).... After burring most of the knobs off of the Max Track and still not getting out, he returned the borrowed and now useless Trax to the owner with a "Sorry, I'll replace that for you though." However, the Max Trax owner has heard nothing yet. Now, let's just put that down to the driver losing/misplacing the good samaritan's contact details as I'm sure he fully intends to replace it. The good news is, those details are available to the driver in this picture. He simply needs to private message this page for them. Replacing it as he promised will certainly restore the Max Track's owners faith in helping others. If you know the driver please tag him here. SANDBOARD HIRE: Lancelin.com.au now has an on line system for booking sandboards. You can click the BOOK NOW button at the top of this fb page or click here - https://www.lancelin.com.au/prod/sandboard-rental-bookings/ to reserve your sandboard. Don't be one of those who roll into town for a few hours of fun on the dunes only to find that boards are sold out. Reserve on line and know your board is waiting for you when you arrive in town.
23.01.2022 ITS ON AGAIN Note the date for next years Colour Blast, its the Saturday of the March long weekend (the annual school fete is the day after). Keep your eye on this page though for notification of the release date. Sales will done on-line via the Lancelin website, www.lancelin.com.au. Please note that tickets have sold out for the past two years and next year will sell out well prior to the March date so please plan ahead (for accommodation click the BOOK NOW button on the Lancelin Facebook page). Once again the Endeavour Tavern is our main sponsor and you will be able to pre-order your post-event Tavern lunch online when you purchase your tickets. 22.01.2022 SANDBOARDING IS SO SIMPLE Just sit on the board push yourself off from the peak of the dune and then hold on. Gravity does the lot and if you're not well balanced, do what most do and just sit down for the ride. Book your boards here before you arrive to avoid disappointment - https://www.lancelin.com.au/prod/sandboard-rental-bookings/
22.01.2022 The Western Australia Chinese Adventure Team (WACAT) were out at the dunes recently and decided to form up their name with vehicles on the dunes. Thanks to Ying Sun for sending these pics.
22.01.2022 MAKE SURE YOU VOTE IN THE UPCOMING SHIRE ELECTIONS If you're a Shire of Gingin resident and interested in seeing progress along the coast north and south of Lancelin, you're urged to get your vote in for the council elections soon. There are some new candidates with energy and enthusiasm who need your support and you get to "tick" up to 5 names (no more or your vote will be ineligible) on your ballot paper. ... If you're looking for progress along our coast tick ONLY the middle 5 names on your ballot paper (as per the specimen pictured) and ensure it's posted back before the cut-off date. Don't be complacent, make a difference!
22.01.2022 DUNES DRAMAS Three seperate accidents on the dunes kept emergency volunteers busy yesterday. A 4WD went over a razorback in the afternoon and landed heavily at the bottom on it's nose. It was the driver's first crest of the day and the late-teenage male simply assumed the dune was OK to crest. The driver experienced whiplash while the two passengers, believed to not be wearing seatbelts, were violently catapulted forwards; the front passenger very nearly going through the fr...ont window as can be seen in these images. The other two incidents involved quad bikes, stretching the resources of local ambulance officers who are all volunteers, i.e. they give up their down time to assist those injured. So often people assume it's ok to blindly go over crests. It's a foolish move given they move so quickly from one day to the next in strong winds. If you choose to gamble on a peak or crest, you need to be aware the consequences can be dire.
22.01.2022 GLORIOUS COLOURS AT SUNSET One of the best times of the day to be on a dune peak is sunset. To get this shot, go to the main sand boarding dune and head about 100m east to the second dune range. That is where the highest peak can be found. Give a friend a canvas or photo paper print of any pic on this or the Lancelin page by clicking here - https://www.kymillman.com/product/fine-art-prints/
21.01.2022 SAND DUNE HEAVEN While Lancelin's white sand dunes are certainly impressive and draw many people to town, the mecca of sand dunes must surely be the Rub Al Kahli, 285kms southwest of Abu Dhabi. They rise up to 320m and are spread over hundreds of kilometres. Yesterday I shot Austrian model Antonia Schafer in the dunes and the orange coloured sand certainly set a different scene.
21.01.2022 HAPPY SNAPPER Lancelin's dunes are popular with photographers although the fine sand can be a real problem when it gets into your lenses. That wasn't an issue on this day for this happy snapper.
20.01.2022 THE VIEW FROM A PEAK This is the peak of Lancelin's highest dune. This couple stopped to snap a pic on the day I took this shot, but if you're up there at sunset and facing the other direction, you'll be rewarded with a super view of the second highest dune just in front of you, the island and the setting sun. Enjoy!
19.01.2022 What a glorious day to be enjoying the dunes on a bike and this group were making the most of the cool but sunny day. If you're heading here soon make you book a 4WD Dunes Bust tour or your sandboard by clicking here - https://www.lancelin.com.au/prod/sandboard-rental-bookings/ Kasey Howe
19.01.2022 MITCHELL FREEWAY EXTENSION NOW OPEN It's been many years coming but from today, your Perth to Lancelin (or vice versa) journey will take 5 minutes less as a res...ult of our freeway being extended 6 kilometres. It opened at 2.40am and Corey Dillard was the first to drive it northbound with all of the new line markings in place. See his video here - https://www.facebook.com/CoreyJDullard/videos/1857081277635306/
19.01.2022 Tonight sees a full moon Friday the 13th of January. This is what it looked like from the top of the highest Lancelin dune, setting over the ocean this morning.
19.01.2022 HORSING AROUND One fine steed, one fine rider and one fine evening resulted in this picture. Own this or any www.kymillman.com image by clicking here - https://www.kymillman.com/product/fine-art-prints/
19.01.2022 INDIAN OCEAN DRIVE SPEED LIMIT REDUCTION The speed limit from just south of KW Road to just north of the Lancelin turn off (a 3km section of the IOD) will drop ...from 110km/hr to 90km/hr from next Thursday, the 24th Nov. This is no doubt due to a number of accidents along that section of road and will be welcomed by most. Please SHARE this amongst your friends as it will be policed in the early stages to ensure adherence to the lower limit.
18.01.2022 Lancelin.com.au now has an on line system for booking sandboards.
18.01.2022 DOWNHILL FUN ON THE DUNES Plenty of people on Lancelin's sand dunes today enjoying a bit of sand boarding. Have you tried it?
18.01.2022 REMARKABLE JAGGED DUNE PEAKS I can't remember seeing the dunes looking like this. Recent heavy rains and winds have worked in concert to produce some interesting formations on the dune peaks. Normally the peaks are rounded or have a razor edge but at the moment some of the dunes have these ragged, jagged peaks which is worth a look.... As they are mainly on the dunes behind the main sandboarding area, if you don't have a 4WD it's best to take the 4WD tour bus - https://www.lancelin.com.au//lancelin-4wd-sand-dunes-adve/ and then book a sandboard for a few hours while the sun's out https://www.lancelin.com.au/prod/sandboard-rental-bookings/ It is a beautiful day in Lancelin and the surf is running which has attracted plenty of wetsuited surfers. And if you'd like to watch some country finals football, head to Dandaragan where the Pirates have all 3 teams playing in semi finals today.
18.01.2022 GUINNESS WORLD RECORD UPDATE Guinness have undertaken to respond with their verdict on our October world record attempt by mid January. All evidence was uploaded to their site and they've confirmed they've received it. We simply await their decision. In the meantime, here is a ripper 6-page article on the event in 4X4 Australia magazine. You might well spot your vehicle. ... It was written by Ray Cully, one of our independent expert witnesses with pics by Damien Crocker, Kym Illman and Eugene Grove. It is a tremendously positive article for the town of Lancelin and the LDCA, it also paints the many helpers in a positive light. A reminder that you should all be registering for the March Colour Blast along Lancelin beach. Click here for details and secure the earlybird pricing - https://www.lancelin.com.au/product/ldca-colour-blast/
18.01.2022 More good news for Lancelin.
17.01.2022 PRIVATE PROPERTY Did you realise that the northern part of the Lancelin sand dunes (much of what you can see here) are actually privately owned? It has been held by the one family for many years with their property starting in the dunes about 200m north of the lead lights and going east to Indian Ocean Drive and north for quite some way. ... The off-road area, the area you are legally allowed to use at no charge, comprises about a third of the total dune network, the middle third if you look at it from north to south. The southern third is owned by Water Corp and then there's the mining site. There's signage on the way in to the dunes so check it out if you're unsure of where the off-road area starts and stops.
17.01.2022 If you're coming to sand board at the dunes which is great fun a warm day, you should reserve your board on line to prevent the disappointment of missing out on busy days. Click below to ensure your board is waiting for you.
17.01.2022 If you're wanting to sand board in Lancelin, click on this link for all the information you'll need for a top day out.
17.01.2022 DOWN DOWN DOWN Sand boarding attracts many to Lancelin and is a great activity for families. Here a youngsters gets some speed up as he descends. Oh, and by the way, last weekend's post about the ski lifts on the dunes.... well, that was an April Fool's Day joke.
17.01.2022 GETTING THE HANG OF IT This Japanese woman mastered the art of standing up while heading downhill at the dunes today. There were plenty at the dunes enjoying the light winds today and tomorrow will be even better.... Like most of those out there today this woman booked her sand board prior to arriving by clicking here - https://www.lancelin.com.au/prod/sandboard-rental-bookings/ It's just $5/hour (min 2.5 hours). Get into it.
15.01.2022 OFFICIALLY AMAZING It's taken some time but the official Guinness World Record certificate for last year's 4WD convoy has arrived! All participants have been emailed the certificate and a copy of it and a photo will be framed and put on display in town (possibly at the tavern) in a few weeks.... The LDCA did a remarkable job in running the event and securing the record. Well done to all!
15.01.2022 LANCELIN TO GET A SWIM PLATFORM IF you're prepared to chip in a few dollars via this Go Fund Me page - https://www.gofundme.com/Lancelinswimplatform Lancelin has long deserved a swim platform in the bay and with your help we'll get one. The Lancelin District Community Association is asking you to contribute towards the $18k cost of installing a quality swim platform, like the one at Guilderton.... This may be the only chance the town gets to have one installed and if we raise enough cash by February 28th, the platfrom can be in place by Lancelin Colour Blast Day, Saturday the 3rd of March. Yes, that soon! You and your kids will love this piece of kit. It'll be in the bay, 15m-30m from the shore, in calm water, and away from the cray boats that ply the jetty. You won't be able to get your kids off it; just look at how popular other platforms have proven to be up and down our coast. But it's up to you to make it happen. You are going to have to put your hand in your wallet, and if you have a business that's doing alright, please be super- generous with your donation. It will be in the water for the warmer weather and stored out of the water over winter. This is a community project that weve been yearning for in Lancelin for years and it could be floating in the bay in time for the Colour Blast. Once you've donated here -https://www.gofundme.com/Lancelinswimplatform please tag family and friends who might also appreciate a swim platform in the bay. The Lancelin District Community Association (LDCA) thanks you in advance.
15.01.2022 BIKES CAN BE CONFISCATED UNDER NEW LAWS As of yesterday, new laws give police powers to seize unlicensed motorcycles, such as trail bikes, if they suspect they have been illegally used on the road. According to WA Police data, illegal trail bike complaints across the state have increased 90 per cent in the past three years and with Lancelin attracting so many off road riders, it's apt to remind those riders that doing the wrong thing may see their beloved bikes hauled away by... the police. The guys in this pic are doing the right thing by walking their un-road-registered bikes instead of riding them.
14.01.2022 Some more fun and games out at the dunes today.
14.01.2022 LANCELIN DUNES This shot was taken a couple of weeks ago the day prior to the full moon and as per most days, there are people out there enjoying the wide open expanse. The dunes attracts a diverse group of people from 4WD lovers and tourists wanting to snowboard, through to hard core motor- and quad-bike riders and there is no charge to use them. ... Unfortunately as the area generates no revenue there are no facilities there but it is hoped that one day there'll be at least some public toilets and perhaps a visitor centre at the dunes to cater for the growing number of users.
14.01.2022 A strange sight indeed!
13.01.2022 TAKING OFF You won't get a much better day for this sort of thing than today and Jian Carlo from Rome, Italy was out on the dunes this morning enjoying the perfect conditions. Own prints of any pic on this page by heading to https://www.kymillman.com/product/fine-art-prints/
13.01.2022 THE DAWN Well known Czech model Nikolart has been in Lancelin for the past 4 days so I took the opportunity to snap her on the dunes at dawn yesterday. The dunes provide a dramatic backdrop when the sun is low in the sky and if you can get past the howling wind, which drives sand into every crevice, the resultant images can be impressive.... Nikolart
12.01.2022 SUNSET ON THE MAIN PEAK Today was glorious in town and tomorrow promises to be just as good. Head on up for a couple of hours sand boarding, you won't regret it! https://www.lancelin.com.au/prod/sandboard-rental-bookings/
11.01.2022 SANDBOARDING It's a hoot and anyone can do it. There are few better places to try your hand at it than on the Lancelin dunes. If you're coming to Lancelin soon to sandboard, you need to book your board on line. Simply click the BOOK NOW button on this facebook page and your board/s will be waiting for you on arrival. ... See you soon!
11.01.2022 BIG FINES FOR TRESPASSING ON DUNES Water Corporation Catchment Rangers and the Shire Ranger have been out in force this weekend, fining those trespassing on Water Corp land. There are three distinct sections of the Lancelin sand dunes, with the southern section (now clearly marked by orange bollards every 10metres) owned by Water Corp. The middle sections of the dunes are for 4WDing as the northern section is privately owned. Off road vehicles are not permitted on Water Corp ...land as any spills have the potential to contaminate the town's drinking water. The fine for a vehicle trespassing can be as high as $2,500. You can also be fined up to $2,000 for littering and up to $5,000 for taking animals on the land or lighting fires. The minimum fines start at $200 and $400 depending on the offence. Lancelin's water comes from underground. It's sourced from as shallow as 2m below the surface in the dunes and is pumped to a treatment plant near Kendall Road. After treatment, it is pumped up to the water tanks near the South End Caravan Park before being distributed around town. It's important the water supply is not compromised so be warned that if you are caught, sizeable fines could wreck your weekend or day trip.
11.01.2022 MEDIA GETS EXCITED ABOUT RECORD GWN 7 ran a story on last night's news -0 https://au.gwn7.yahoo.com//343/record-smashed-in-lancelin/ and the story was in the West's Inside Cover column today.
10.01.2022 GORGEOUS LIGHT + WEDDING DRESS PHOTO SHOOT Yesterday morning the cloud cover provided some lovely holes for the sun to penetrate, lighting the dunes in spectacular fashion. Speaking of fashion, do you know anyone who might be interested in a large scale photo shoot somewhere in Lancelin featuring a couple of hundred women in their bridal dresses.... It will most likely be between Christmas and New Year and will be promoted here and on the Lancelin facebook page. It should look magnificent and give those who've never worn their dress since getting married, a chance to "squeeze" back into it for a super photo.
10.01.2022 A SAND NAP Minh-Ly having a snooze on Lancelin's iconic sand dunes at dune last weekend. Own this or any Kym Illman pic at https://www.kymillman.com/product/fine-art-prints/

You can pre-order lunches on the site when you register. Presented by the Lancelin District Community Association Inc, Endeavour Tavern Lancelin and Offshore Cafe.
09.01.2022 SAND ON THE MOVE Every day, Lancelin's dunes change. The stronger the wind, the quicker the change and as you can see here, with a decent breeze the sand certainly gets airborne. This is why it's vital to check what's over each dune. Last week, a young motor bike rider barrelled over a crest without checking and crashed heavily when the expected soft landing become a hard one. ... He is lucky to be alive and without the neck restraint he had on, could well have suffered a devastating spinal injury. Take care when you're out there. Oh and remember, the Lancelin Colour Blast is on on Sat March 4th in front of the tavern. Register now to avoid missing out like so many did last year - https://www.lancelin.com.au/product/ldca-colour-blast/ Earlybird rates are $7.50 and $12.50/person.
08.01.2022 BUGGIE ME DEAD! Ben and his mates were having the time of their lives today as they ripped around the Lancelin dunes in their souped up vehicles. It has been th...e most glorious day with light breezes and a complete absence of cloud cover. It's not too late to get up here to watch the sun set over the ocean. See you soon huh!
08.01.2022 LANCELIN MAKES IT INTO GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS 2018 BOOK Having broken the Largest Convoy of Off Road Vehicles world record just over a year ago, there was never... any guarantee that the record would make it into the annual GWR book. But not only did it make it into the new edition, it occupies a third of a double page, pages 6 and 7! This further boosts the profile of the town, exposing it to a huge worldwide audience. The editor even delved into the town's past as you can see in the bottom right hand corner. Congratulations to all those who participated and to the Lancelin District Community Association Inc.
08.01.2022 MR MCGOWAN PLEASE TALK SOME SENSE INTO YOUR MINISTER The Fisheries Minister, Dave Kelly, seems hell bent on stealing 17% of the crayfishing industry and Lancelin needs our Premier to step in here and take control. Mr McGowan holidayed here a couple of years ago and we'd like to welcome him back but if this theft is rushed through, it's feared he will not be welcome in town and that would be a crying shame! So, what are the ramifications for Lancelin and every fishing town a...long our coast if Mr Kelly gets his way? Banks will tighten lending on licences which means fishers will need to stump up more capital, capital that many simply don't have. Some will have to reduce crew numbers resulting in jobs lost in town and amateurs will have to fight the commercial fishers for crays. The government can easily provide more crays for the local market with a stroke of the pen, they don't need to steal 17% of the quota. They need the cash that this will spin off though and have scant concern for the assets of the fishermen and investors that will be devalued overnight! It will hurt our town, and very quickly if this gets up. So if you don't want Lancelin to go backwards and if you don't want the licences being sold to the Chinese or Japanese in a cash grab, YOU NEED TO ACTUALLY GET OFF YOUR ARSE AND DO SOMETHING. 1 - like this page - https://www.facebook.com/FishingFamiliesWA/ 2 - leave a comment on a post on that page detailing how this quota theft will impact you 3 - email the minister directly with your thoughts - [email protected] Do not think someone else is going to stop the rort, it is up to you. This post will reach more than 50,000 people and if half spent 3 minutes doing the above, that would send a powerful message to the state government. Will you do it?
08.01.2022 SOFT SAND SNARES MANY Plenty of two wheel drive car drivers end up bogged at the moment as they enter the dunes. The sand is fine and dry at the moment and if you are heading to the sand boarding dune, make sure you stick to the hard rocky surface otherwise you'll end up like this fella yesterday afternoon.... Kirrily Ridsdill-Smith
07.01.2022 STYLE AND GRACE 17-year old Taylah Small is quite the dancer and this morning I found her on the dunes just as the sun was breaching the horizon. Over the ensuing 3 hours I shot her in various locations and the best pics from the morning are featured here. I urge you to spend 40 seconds looking through them, you won't be disappointed.... Taylah is an exceptional talent and no doubt has a great future in ballet. There are few better places in this state to photograph such a graceful creature and she and the scenery completed each other to a tee. Own these or any other pic from the page by clicking here - https://www.kymillman.com/product/fine-art-prints/
07.01.2022 LDCA SWIM PLATFORM ARRIVES IN TOWN This 4m x 4m swim platform arrived in Lancelin the other day and will be moored in the bay soon, hopefully! Exactly when wi...ll be determined by you. YES YOU! The LDCA is still $2,650 short (the value of the 2 ladders needed). Kids in particular are going to love this bit of kit, adults aren't going to be any less enthusiastic about it. In 17 days the public and many businesses have tipped in just over $5,000, most of it coming via this GoFundMe campaign - https://www.gofundme.com/Lancelinswimplatform Once we hit the target figure, the platform will be installed. There is a real chance that it could be in by Friday next week IF YOU CAN HELP OUT. But you actually need to click on this link to help - https://www.gofundme.com/Lancelinswimplatform A number of businesses have already donated time and money like Lancelin Mechanical, Lancelin Trade and Rural Supplies, Have A Chat, Letizia Palmer Accountants, Tony Dolton Transport, Suntique, Lobbster Trap, Lancelin Post Office & General Store, Offshore Cafe and Messages On Hold. A number of local crayfishermen have also helped, e.g. Glen Scaddan, John Abbott and Clint Moss. They have much to gain by many of the youngsters who currently jump from the jetty moving north to the swim platform. Others like Tina Broughton, David Willison, Russell Shaw and 35 or so others have bumped up the total. If you can't donate, can you please SHARE this and hopefully others who stand to benefit will take up the challenge. Let's hope we're jumping off it by Lancelin Colour Blast Day, next Saturday March 3rd. https://www.lancelin.com.au/product/ldca-colour-blast/ Kevin Ostle Paulo Fernandes Nick Triantafyllou

The 45-minute dunes tours leave on the hour, every hour from 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week.... Bookings are essential and can be made on line here - https://www.lancelin.com.au//lancelin-4wd-sand-dunes-adve/ or head to www.lancelin.com.au. 04.01.2022 GUINNESS PROGRESS It was just over a month ago that Lancelin saw a huge turnout of 4WDs on the dunes attempting to smash the Guinness World Record for Largest Convoy of Off Road Vehicles. Guinness has confirmed receipt of our evidence substantiating our claim and as per their standard procedures, will respond to us by mid-January - fingers crossed. ... There is still a 6-page story to appear in 4x4 Australia magazine which is due out in the next month and will paint a great picture of the dunes, the town and the huge number of locals and visitors who all gave their time for nothing to ensure the event was a winner. And in closing, if you've paid for merchandise and haven't collected it, it's waiting for you in East Perth.
03.01.2022 ITS ON AGAIN Note the date for next year’s Colour Blast, it’s the Saturday of the March long weekend (the annual school fete is the day after). Earlybird ticket...s will go on sale the week prior to Christmas (they make great presents). Those who purchased tickets last year will be emailed the day prior to the release and have first option. This event is once again being run by the LDCA with proceeds going to town projects. And yes, we will be looking for adult volunteers to assist on the day. Pls PM the page if you’re interested.
03.01.2022 LANCELIN BAY SWIM PLATFORM UPDATE With your help, the town's new swim platform will be in by Lancelin Colour Blast day, Sat March 3rd. Since launching the GoFundMe campaign last week we've had $2,600+ donated via that page and direct deposits BUT we still have a way to go and the sooner we reach our goal, the sooner it goes in.... The platform will be positioned just off shore. It'll be moored in the bay during the warmer months and stored in a Lancelin shed during winter. The Lancelin District Community Association Inc is making this happen but they need your financial assistance. There are many of you who'll use this platform and if you're one, we're asking you to help fund it. Please click here now - https://www.gofundme.com/Lancelinswimplatform If you can't donate, please help by SHARING this post as your friends may want to. There are similar swim platforms up and down our coast and they are hugely popular with locals and visitors. Lancelin deserves one and the sooner we get the funds (we're about 1/3rd the way there in less than a week), the sooner it goes in.

02.01.2022 SANDY CAMELS You don't often see camels on Lancelin's dunes, so when Lara Scaddan took these two Humpy Camels camels for a walk out there the other evening I snapped this shot. You can ride these camels this weekend at Wangaree Park in the centre of town. REMINDER: Have you purchased your tickets for the Lancelin Colour Blast on Sat March 4th? See here for more details - https://www.lancelin.com.au/product/ldca-colour-blast/
01.01.2022 THE BEST VIEW IN TOWN This group had prime position on top of the highest dune as the sun set over the Indian Ocean tonight. Will you be coming up to enjoy the wide open expanses? If so, book your sand board or 4WD tour prior to leaving home - https://www.lancelin.com.au/activities/
01.01.2022 SANDBOARDING IS FUN The heavy rain has stopped in Lancelin so get yourself to town today for some downhill action. You don't need to be a good snowboarder or skater to enjoy sandboarding as you can either stand or sit as gravity takes you down the duneface. Today's forecast predicts scattered cloud and only a slight chance of rain before 4pm so get here early and enjoy yourself.... A reminder you'll need to reserve your boards by clicking here - https://www.lancelin.com.au/prod/sandboard-rental-bookings/ And they'll be waiting for you upon arrival.
01.01.2022 GREAT EASTER EGG HUNT IS ON NOW Find this huge easter egg and 6m tall easter bunny and you'll score a free small easter egg compliments of the Lancelin District Community Association Inc. There are only 300 eggs and if you're under 18 you will score one for free if you come and ask. HINT: It's just south of the toilets in Harold Park.... Could you please SHARE this with your friends as we need to give away all of these eggs in short time. Thanks in advance from all those who care about Lancelin.
01.01.2022 HAVING A REST ON A DUNE PEAK This young woman is caught re-charging her batteries on a dune peak with Lancelin Island in the background. You do need a 4WD to get to this section of dune unless you fancy a long walk. You can take a dune tour though which will get you all around the dune network. It's well worth doing but you should book prior to arriving https://www.lancelin.com.au//lancelin-4wd-sand-dunes-adve/
