15.01.2022 Trick or Treat - by Glenn Valentine pastel artist "The title of this exhibition evolved from an opinion that ‘suggested violence’ can sometimes polarise an audience. So, the questionable nature of some works (trick) is tempered by the inclusion of some ‘straight’ pieces (treat). This Halloween inspired exhibition is the result of many years of using knives, axes or some form of weaponry in my paintings. The hint of violence suggested by these props, gives the artworks a slig...htly macabre nature. Sometimes the violence becomes more of a suggestion and breaks out into a potential crime scene. Most of the works rest heavily on the use of whimsy and may be interpreted as a push back against some vegetarian principles. Some comedic elements can be garnered from the attempted humanising of some of the fruit. This can be seen in the gawking pears surrounding a wounded comrade in the piece ‘Blood Pear’. The unapologetic humour is always expanded by the use of ‘tongue in cheek’ descriptors that accompany each artwork. These can often take the viewer to an unexpected place after the initial observation." This gore-some exhibition will be on display at our office for the next few weeks. Feel free to come and browse - 75 Vulture St, West End!

14.01.2022 LM Glossary | URL redirect A URL redirect is when you send both users and search engines away to a different URL from what they originally requested. There are a number of reasons why you would need to do this; - You have a new website or webpage... - The URL is broken - You might be fixing a page or you want to send users to another page while you keep repairing the old one The two common redirects you will use are 301 and a 302. Not really sure what we're talking about? Read on! A 301 redirect basically means you have moved the webpage or website permanently to a new location. For example, if you want to redirect people from the URL www.lancemontana.com.au/oldurl to www.lancemontana.com.au/newurl, you would use a 301 redirect. This will stop anyone landing on the old page and any external sites that link to the old page will now link to the new URL. A 302 redirect lets users and search engines know that you have only temporarily moved a URL. If you were redesigning or updating your website, that's when you would use this redirect option. Only use this redirect if you're planning on bringing the old page back.

14.01.2022 LM Glossary | Short and Long-tail keywords We know that keyword research is an essential SEO task for any business, but there's one question that often arises: Do you choose a Short-tail keyword or a Long-tail keyword?... A Short-tail keyword is a search phrase that contains 1 to 3 words, for example, "coffee shops brisbane". They are more general and broad terms and often have higher search volumes. They are also highly competitive and harder to rank on Google. A Long-tail keyword is a more specific search phrase that contains more than 3 words, for example, "organic coffee beans online". With a long-tail keyword, average monthly searches are generally lower than a short-tail keyword, however, there is less competition.
