25.01.2022 An inventive new twist on an old trick that could result in improved scientific knowledge on our hidden ecology.

25.01.2022 In an unusual intervention in domestic politics, UNESCO's World Heritage Committee says the Federal Government should postpone devolving its environmental approval powers to Qld (i.e. providing permission for QLD to make development assessment determinations for projects which impacts items identified as nationally significant or on Commonwealth land under the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act - a federal environmental legislation) until a long-term s...ustainable development plan for the Great Barrier Reef world heritage area is in place. This goes to demonstrate the concern UNESCO has over QLD/Australia's management of the Great Barrier Reef, despite recently opting to postpone it's decision about adding Great Barrier Reef to an 'in danger' list of world heritage items. 25.01.2022 National Reconciliation Week (27 May - 3 June) commemorates two significant milestones in our country's history the anniversaries of the 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision. On May 27, 1967 Australians voted overwhelmingly to change the Australian Constitution, removing provisions which prevented the Federal Government from making laws for Aborigines, and which excluded Aborigines from being counted in the census. The High Courts judgement in the Mabo case res...ulted in the introduction of the doctrine of native title into Australian law, removing the myth of terra nullius and establishing a legal framework for native title claims by Indigenous Australians. 23.01.2022 Renewable energy: In a time where Australian governments are axing renewable energy incentives under the guise of austerity measures, investment banking giant Citigroup says that renewables are the economically viable option of the future- and the evidence is already here. http://reneweconomy.com.au//citigroup-says-the-age-of-rene www.landairwater.com.au

23.01.2022 Today is World Environment Day!! Many of the Earths ecosystems are nearing critical tipping points of depletion or irreversible change, pushed by high population growth and economic development. By 2050, if current consumption and production patterns remain the same and with a rising population expected to reach 9.6 billion, we will need three planets to sustain our way of life. Living well within planetary boundaries is the most promising strategy for ensuring a healthy fut...ure. 21.01.2022 I work with a lot of engineers in my profession, sometimes adversarially, however I was recently sent a series of images from a colleague which go to prove construction engineers care about the environment too!

21.01.2022 Another great example of what the money donated to Greenfleet achieves on the ground! In 2005 we partnered with South East Queensland Water to revegetate this p...roperty bordering the Wivenhoe Dam near Brisbane, Qld. Between 2005 and 2007, 110,000 trees were planted to return grazed land back to its natural state to restore biodiversity, capture carbon emissions, provide habitat for native animals, and reduce runoff into Lake Wivenhoe. Help us plant more forests like this one, which restore and protect the landscape: make a tax-deductible donation to Greenfleet: www.greenfleet.com.au

19.01.2022 "Clive Palmer, whose company Queensland Nickel owes $8.4m in carbon tax, says he supports a repeal but believes it should be retrospective." The business of politics. I wonder what Australia could do with $8.4m. I wonder if we will ever find out. http://www.theguardian.com//bill-shorten-reduce-greenhouse... www.landairwater.com.au

18.01.2022 Some vigilante justice! I completely understand this reaction, but perhaps a safer thing to do is contact the EPA instead.
