24.01.2022 Another great day to be out saving an endangered species! (Although the flies were a bit of a nuisance!) Today I installed a few Red Tailed Phascogale nest boxes in some of the reserves around town. If you happen to come across any of them, please don't disturb them. We are trying to encourage the little guys to breed! ... Keep an eye out for information on how you can get a nest box of your own!

23.01.2022 Have you spotted any Carnaby's Cockatoos flying, eating, drinking, roosting or nesting? We'd love to hear about it! Fill in this quick online survey, and even pinpoint them on the map, so we know where they are! This will help us find locations to improve feeding and set up nest boxes to help keep the Cockatoos healthy, and maybe even save a species! https://app.maptionnaire.com/en/7399/

22.01.2022 What ways do we measure the value of trees? Just by their potential output when being cut for timber? That's probably a bit short sighted, due to all the other work they do in before being cut down... "A land valuer recently placed his farm, Bambra, at around 30 per cent more financially lucrative because of its tree cover."

20.01.2022 Carnaby's Black Cockatoos are in the area right now, nesting. Please remember, you can fill in a sighting report form anytime, but now, especially if you see a single bird travelling to and from a single location - it could be dad bringing food to mum and bub! And we would LOVE to know about it! :) https://app.maptionnaire.com/en/7399/

17.01.2022 How can you make simple changes to reduce environmental waste through something you do everyday? Many of us know plastic toothbrushes, straws and cotton bud sticks are a plastic that can not be recycled with millions of these contributing to plastic pollution in our waterways and oceans? What is the alternative? Use bamboo based products which are a fast growing, sustainable material that biodegrades. To raise awareness of World Water day we are giving away two prizes of Bamboo Toothbrush, Straw and Cotton buds valued at $15 to anyone who Likes and Shares this post before the 25th March to be eligible.
