19.01.2022 Landcom recently started work to upgrade the historic Mont St Quentin Oval. The upgrade will provide a full-sized AFL field, a new amenities building, BBQ facilities, and an inclusive playground catering for all children. Mont St Quentin Oval was initially used as the main parade ground for the Ingleburn Army Camp. Together with the Bardia Barracks, Mont St Quentin Oval forms part of the Ingleburn Military Heritage Precinct, that Landcom is currently maintaining and adapting ...for re-use. We are preserving heritage items, and installing interpretive signage to celebrate the oval’s military past. When complete the Edmondson Park community will have a great new space to meet, play and get active. Learn more at https://www.landcom.com.au/places/edmondson-park/

08.01.2022 #NAIDOCWEEK | This week we celebrate the history, culture and achievements of First Nation people who have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. The Hills Are Alive artwork is grounded in the perspectives of the traditional custodians of the land, the Darug people, through Leanne Watson’s paintings of Kutukulung, the totemic long neck turtle and Darug language provided by Erin Wilkins. In a multi-layered reflection on the past, present and future of Bel...la Vista, the artwork conjures the essence of the area. Landcom and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia’s C3 West program co-commissioned The Hills Are Alive featuring Katukulung by Leanne Wateron as part of the Hasta La Bella Vista Baby project. The year-long project was created by Sydney-based artist Tina Havelock Stevens working with the Bella Vista and Hills Shire community. The Hills Are Alive banner is currently on display near Bella Vista Station. Leanne Watson, Kutukulung, 2019. Acrylic on canvas. Image the artist. Photograph: Silversalt. The Hills Are Alive was designed by Rose McEwen and Alex Torcutti. It includes Darug language provided by Erin Wilkins and musings by local residents who developed their works with writer Vanessa Berry in workshops facilitated by WestWords.
