25.01.2022 The #TNRM Territory NRM conference and awards was hosted this week and had a huge array of speakers and participants that came along from near and far. There were opportunities to learn, share and celebrate looking after our amazing habitats and country, by managing land in better ways, or addressing threats. A short update on Land for Wildlife Top End was given and the vision for its future with its new host Territory NRM. Presentations were also given about the new Gamba Ar...my, and a workshop on Gamba grass and a consolidated plan to manage it. Workshops also covered feral Buffalo management and water use. We heard about the incredible work of many Indigenous ranger groups, who also had the chance to participate in workshops including telling stories of fire management run by the Indigenous Carbon Industry Network, and a connecting workshop about ranger management of Land and Sea country. It was also great to see so many women's ranger groups and groups from coming from remote areas amongst Landholders and people from other organisations. The coordinator from @Land for Wildlife Central Australia also attended the confernce, so it was great to catch up. The stars of the show were Manyallaluk School, who are doing science and monitoring on country and gave a presentation to on the main day. They are the future of good land management ! They also won the Next Generation Award at the awards night ! One of our (Land for Wildlife Top End) pillars of future focus is education and inspiration, which will include wildlife awareness and monitoring in schools. 19.01.2022 Although this is on a small town block, well worth a look for inspiring wildlife attracting native plantings. Booking required.

18.01.2022 Wishing you all a safe and Happy Easter at home. The best way to find those eggs is to reduce the weeds. We know a lot of people who will be making the most of... the extra time at home this long weekend to get out on their block to spray or pull weeds. What have you got planned to do on your block? Post your pictures in the comments.
