21.01.2022 Check out the before and after shots of our project in Waverton! This multi-level rooftop plant room was in a dilapidated condition requiring urgent remediation. The project involved asbestos removal, structural remediation, and re-sheeting of the plant room. We are pleased with the outcome and the plant room is once again safe to use. #strata #remediation #constructionconsultants #costplaning #projectmanagement #maintenance #buildingassessment #engineering #buildingdefects #beforeandafer

20.01.2022 It is great news to see the government is continuing to help solve NSW's cladding crisis. Apartment owners will now have access to interest-free loans as part of a $1 billion government program to tackle high-risk buildings with flammable cladding. This program also includes $139 million to provide professional assistance to these owners for the remediation process of the at-risk buildings. Although the interest-free loans only apply to 225 high-risk buildings, the government... has allowed three years for the building owners to obtain it. Better Regulation and Innovation Minister Kevin Anderson said "Owners have asked for financial and technical support to help them manage the process. This program will provide peace of mind to those living in affected buildings". We believe it is an excellent effort to support building owners and owner corporations and lower the financial pressure, particularly in the current climate and the challenges presented by Covid-19. It will also aid in fast-tracking the removal of unsafe cladding. 20.01.2022 Although planter boxes enhance the appearance of apartments, they are also one of the most common waterproofing elements to fail. The main reason for this failure stems from a combination of issues. These include concerns such as inappropriate material selection, material incompatibility, and underestimation of differential building movement. #strata #remediation #constructionconsultants #costplaning #projectmanagement #facade #maintenance #buildingassessment #engineering #buildingdefects #planterbox

10.01.2022 The team at Landlay was engaged to conduct an assessment of the rooftop terraces of all three buildings at the property and provide design specifications and supervision of the remedial works. The works involve full re-waterproofing of the rooftop terraces and installation of suspended paver system, as well as repairs and re-painting throughout the rooftop areas and plant rooms. 10.01.2022 A new comprehensive practice standard has now been released by NSW Government. It outlines how building certifiers are required to ensure everything they do is complying with the law. Minister for Better Regulation, Kevin Anderson, said the standard helps all registered certifiers turn all the building requirements into practice. For too long, the practice of many certifiers has been sub-standard with the release of this Guide we’ve drawn a line under that. From today the...re can be no excuses; these new standards clearly outline the approach Certifiers must follow in their work and what must be done to comply with the law, Mr Anderson said. The standard covers areas including fire protection, wet areas and waterproofing, occupation certificates, and ensures the completed building is consistent with the development approval. It assists to clarify certifiers’ professional obligations as public officials, enhancing accountability and responsibility.
