19.01.2022 Why get a pre-purchase building inspection completed? Because many builders try to save costs in anyway possible and unless you know what you're looking for, you wouldn't be aware that this fire wall between townhouses is completely useless due to not being sealed for the entire height of the wall and also has combustible material in contact with the fire wall. This could present as a major issue if there was a fire in either house which would quickly and easily spread to the adjoining property

17.01.2022 Landmark Inspections is seeking a competent and confident person to join our administration team to handle all the day to day errands of the office including taking bookings, requesting information from clients/agents, sending emails, making and receiving phone calls. Previous admin/receptionist work is required. This position is a home based position, Therefore you will require a quiet workspace at home to work from as well as a solid internet connection.

12.01.2022 At this recent bored piers inspection, we identified only 10 out of 11 piers had been poured. After an hour of digging around the approximate location of the 11th pier we gave up and contacted the site supervisor.. Turns out the concreter only installed 10 and missed the 11th. The biggest concern we have about this is the fact that not only the concreter missed it but the site supervisor and the building surveyor both signed off on these being 100% completed. Do yourself a favour and hire an independent building inspector when building your new home, Landmark Inspections inspectors actually spend time at the site to assess what has been constructed does match what has been designed.

05.01.2022 Another pre-purchase inspection and another major issue identified in the roof space. This time we have identified the bottom chord of the truss has been cut out to allow the chimney flue to be in a straight line. Roof trusses are a structural element and must not be cut without certification from the manufacturer. An attempt to reinforce this truss has been made with a strut and a piece of hoop iron which is supporting this truss with 2 plaster screws.. Not exactly adequate.... Make sure you get a pre-purchase building inspection before you buy any property. T

01.01.2022 During a completion stage inspection our inspector identified minor moisture damage to the ceiling, upon further investigation within the roof space, it was established that there was no flashing around the sewer vent penetration of the roof. This is another example of the importance of having each stage inspected, to avoid issues like this so close to handover.
