23.01.2022 MASKS ON FARMS From 11:59pm on Sunday face masks will become mandatory for all Victorians when out of their homes. Premier Daniel Andrews has this afternoon c...larified when masks need to be worn for those who live on farms. The premier called for a common-sense approach, and gave a number of situational examples of when a mask is required. Essentially: If youre working alone on your farm and not coming into contact with other people, a mask IS NOT needed. If youre working on your farm with people who live in the same house as you, a mask IS NOT needed. If youre working on your farm alongside people who do not live in the same house as you, a mask IS REQUIRED. If its a family farm and you and members of your household, then common sense tells you that you dont need to wear a mask, Mr Andrews said. But once you go past the front gate and go into town you would (need to wear a mask). If youve got staff or if youve got people coming to your property to make deliveries or to collect livestock for instance or if you have staff coming onto your property logic just says put your mask on because that person is not part of your household. Even though the farm is your home, thats then a workplace.

15.01.2022 Information gathered from the Stawell Times News on how to use and look after a mask From midnight on Sunday August 2, all Victorians must wear a face covering ...when they leave the house - no matter where they live. On Thursday July 30, Premier Daniel Andrews said "this was an appropriate next step". All masks: Should fit snuggly and cover your nose and mouth. Surgical masks: Are available from a range of retailers, are single use and should be disposed of in a rubbish bin. Cloth masks: Must be washed after each wear before being re-used. They should have at least three layers (see graph below). They should not have holes or a valve - which could allow you to breath out the virus. If they have a replaceable filter, that should be change with each wear. Cloth masks should be washed at the temperature appropriate for the fabric after each use and be fully dry before they are worn again. So its best to have a few. Check the mask regularly as it is will wear and in time need replacing. Scarves, socks: People have been given leeway due to the shortage of reusable masks and mask in general at the moment to cover faces with any covering, but it has been advised that they do not provide the same level of cover as a mask. Mask safety: If you take a mask off while you are out you cant put it back on again - it will either need to be binned or, if reusable, washed later. Carry a plastic bag to put them in if you take them off - dont just put them in your back pocket - and if cloth wash them when you get home. Have multiple masks with you if youre going to remove them during the day. Putting on/removing a mask: Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or use a hand sanitiser with more than 60 per cent alcohol before you put the mask on and before you remove it. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth and store the used face masks in plastic bag until you can wash them - or throw them straight into the wash if you are at home.

14.01.2022 One active case for the first time in the Pyrenees Shire.

14.01.2022 One extra for Ballarat and Pyrenees. All other Ripon LGAs steady.

14.01.2022 No more active cases in the Pyrenees.

14.01.2022 Beginning next month, Pyrenees Shire Council will no longer be printing transfer station vouchers and are advising residents that all they will need is proof of... their address. Household waste, green waste and recycling deposits will not attract a gate fee at any of the shires transfer stations, as this is covered by the waste charge. However, other materials such as mattresses, e-waste, oil and car tyres will attract a charge to drop off. The Council has asked residents to simply show their license to the Transfer Station attendant when they arrive, and to listen to their instructions while dropping off their items. Non-resident ratepayers can drop off domestic waste, but are being reminded to bring their rates notice along with them. Building and construction waste will not be accepted as part of this offer. Mayor Tanya Kehoe said it was vital to keep recycling paper, cardboard steel and aluminium cans, plastic and glass. We are aware that by removing the vouchers, the cost incentive to recycle has disappeared, she said. We are encouraging residents to continue to separate waste from recycling as it reduces landfill and valuable resources can be reused. A limit of one 6X4 trailer load a day per household will apply. Meanwhile, Council is working in partnership with the State Government and DELWP to provide a sustainable recycle recovery plan that will transition the shire to a Circular Economy. This transition plan will identify issues and inconsistencies in the current waste and recycling system. The Victorian Government has committed $129 million to the implementation of the Transition Plan. Pending community consultation, Council is seeking to provide an additional kerbside glass bin from July next year in addition to the existing waste, recycling and green waste bins. This new four bin model, together with the Container Deposit Scheme, aims to deliver reform to household recycling.
