24.01.2022 Dear Parents, As you will no doubt have heard, the Premier has announced that we are in hard lockdown from 6pm tonight. At this stage schools will be closed from 6pm Sunday 31/01/2021 to 6pm Friday 5th February. As per the Premier’s comments the school holidays are extended for one week (there will be no online learning prescribed by the school during this week). Staff have been instructed not to come into work during this time unless it is absolutely necessary. ... Our Director General has also indicated to principals that they are working on more detailed advice and this should be available this evening. I will send more information out to you should there be any further developments. I do understand that this will be so disappointing to our families and in particular our younger students who have been looking forward to their first days at school. Hopefully this will only be a short delay and we will all be back at school Monday Week. In the meantime please keep safe and we will see you all next week. Kind regards, Josh Jashari Principal Landsdale PS.

19.01.2022 Dear Parents, As you are aware the Premier has announced that students will be returning back to school as from Monday 8th February and that a number of restrictions will be in place until 12:01 am Sunday 14th February. In essence these will impact the school operations during the next five days of school unless there are any changes to the governments approach. We ask for your support and patience throughout this week. To keep in line with other schools in the state next wee...k will still be considered week 2 of school in terms of any timetabling and Kindergarten arrangements. Drop off/start of day arrangements: Please follow our previous (pre lockdown arrangements as per Monday Feb 2) in terms of the drop off/start of day arrangements for our K-1 students and our 2-6 students. These arrangements are a consistent approach which will be followed by all schools in the Ashdale Cluster and also follow new restriction guidelines. K-1 will be notified of this in a reminder note that has been sent today. Year 2-6 students can be dropped off at the classroom door. For this week, please do not enter classrooms. Gates and entering school grounds: Parents will be able to enter the school grounds but must wear a mask as this is now a lawful requirement. Social distancing is also required (4 square metres). If you are entering a classroom (K-1) please sign the visitors register available in each of these classrooms. As is current school policy the front gate only will open at 8.15am. This is to provide early access for those students who are dropped off at Kiss and Drive and those who arrive early without their parents. These students can enter and will be directed to the alcove outside LA 10 and 11 until class doors open at 8.30am. All other gates will open at 8.25am for parents and students to enter the school grounds. Masks: Students will not be required to wear a mask in a primary school setting. All visitors, staff (teachers and non teachers) and parents are required to wear a mask on site. Teachers and Education Assistants may take their masks off during class lesson time whilst they are instructing students. They must wear their masks at all other times including duty. I will keep you informed of any other developments as they come to hand Kind regards, Josh Jashari

17.01.2022 COVID-19 Up to date information/parent letter coming home with your child today.

17.01.2022 The Landsdale Primary School community, both past and present, send their deepest sympathies to the Dohnt and Coutinho families on the passing of Mohini. She had a large family and many friends and throughout her life called two places home - Perth and Broome. A service to celebrate Mohini's life was held on Monday 20th July. Mohini was a well loved and fondly remembered foundation staff member that brought people together through laughter and music. She's now singing and dancing with the angels.

15.01.2022 Dear Parent/Guardian, To celebrate Children’s Book Week and our P&C Book Fair, we will be holding our Whole School Dress-Up Day & Parade on FRIDAY 6th NOVEMBER 2020 (Week 4) for all students and staff from Pre-Primary to Year 6. Children are invited to dress up as either a character from a book, as the book itself or they can wear a costume that relates to this year’s Book Week theme of Curious Creatures. Wild Minds. Don’t forget, any book that creates a sense of curiosi...ty and stimulates the mind, fits with this theme. We ask that students bring their chosen book with them (or borrow it from the Library) to show the relationship between their costume and their book. We encourage creativity and originality. Home-made costumes are perfect, as the fun is in the process of creating, rather than the end product. (No need to make, purchase or hire expensive costumes). All students who participate in the Dress-Up Day Parade will receive a Curious Creatures. Wild Minds bookmark. Two parades will be held on the school oval on the morning of FRIDAY 6th NOVEMBER for students to share their costumes and books with the whole school community: Junior Parade Pre-Primary/Yr 1/Yr 2 @ 9.00am-9.45am Senior Parade Yr 3/Yr 4/Yr 5/Yr 6 @ 10.00am-10.45am Parents are WELCOME to attend this special event. This year, we have had limited opportunities to come together as a school community, so we hope you will enjoy this fun morning with us. Our annual P&C Book Fair is also open all week from Monday 2nd to Friday 6th November. Please join us in the Library after the parades to check out the Book Fair. There will be extended shopping hours for parents on the Friday (8.15-12.30am and 2.00-3pm). Please contact Mrs Murray in the Library on 9302 4100 if you have any questions about the Book Week Dress-Up Day Parade or the P&C Book Fair. Thank you for your participation. We look forward to seeing everyone dressed up on FRIDAY 6th NOVEMBER. Please note: Kindy students will hold their own Dress-Up Day Parade on different days throughout the week. Please check with your child’s Kindy teacher for details.

Please go and support the talented students and of course vote for their artwork for the public choice award! Mrs Murphy and Mrs Callow

08.01.2022 20 Years! Landsdale is celebrating its 20th year. Students and families past and present, thank you, we couldnt have been so successful without your wonderful contributions. The school was opened in 1999 and as part of the opening, students and staff contributed to a Time Capsule, to be opened in 20 years. It is TIME to open the capsule!... The Time Capsule will be dug up on 4pm Thursday the 21st November to reveal hidden treasures. Selected staff and past students will open it privately and ensure all is in good order. All are welcome to witness the digging and catch up with other past students. The contents, which include a letter describing the educational landscape in 1999 and memorabilia, will be on display at our Fete, Friday 22nd of November from 4.30-8.30pm. We invite past and present students and families to attend the Fete and share some memories. We often hear about past students and their journey in life, but rarely do we hear from them directly. If you are a past student and would like to share with us your memories and let us know what you are doing now, please contribute to our 20 years @ Landsdale eBook by completing this short survey. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LPS20yrs
