On the Facebook and LinkedIn networks and particularly in workplace environments it is rare for anyone to admit that they are struggling. Why don't we talk about it? Why have we created a workplace culture where struggling can be seen as being "weak"? Why is it such a taboo subject? Lots of people don't take it seriously - shame on them. 18.01.2022 Surveying Careers Conversations with Industry LandTeam’s Managing Director, Greg Goodman and HR Manager, Lauren Goodman were pleased to assist in ‘Careers Conversations with Industry' at the Illawarra Sports High School this morning. Surveying was one of about fifty careers dealt with on a rotation basis. Vibrant discussion was had regarding Surveying as a career in the four rotations with eight students. Surveying courses are available at TAFE and University level, and l...ead to varied technical and professional roles such as Survey Assistant or Graduate Surveyor. With further training, Graduate Surveyors can become a Registered Surveyor. Studying surveying involves a unique mix of learning opportunities with both theoretical and practical hands on field-work projects. 11.01.2022 In 1865 The Surveyor General of South Australia, George Goyder, marked a line on the map of South Australia delineating drought affected country. The line became an important factor in the settlement in the state being regarded as an indication of the limits of lands considered safe for agricultural development. LandTeam Australia Registered Surveyor, Paul Davis-Raiss, came across this monument while on leave in the Flinders Ranges area. Certainly looks nice and green in the background of the photo. Paul was contemplating the challenge of defining this line in 1865!! Here’s to the survey explorers that opened up Australia hip hip hooray!
