18.01.2022 THROWBACK THURSDAY UP FOR GRABS by David Williamson Directed by Rebecca Greensill 17th - 25th June 2011... Set in the booming international art market of the 1990s, fuelled by the dot com boom, Up for Grabs is a comedy of bad manners, an analysis of how wealth and power can corrupt the arts. Simone Allen (Joanne Sanders) likes to see herself as the latter but when given the opportunity to sell one of the better Whiteleys, her behaviour becomes less than angelic. Driven by greed and aesthetics, Williamsons characters discover how far they will go when more than just a beautiful work of art is up for grabs. In this sexy comedy of manners, Williamson explores the good and the bad inherent in all of us and the actions we are all capable of when faced with the right motivating forces. Cast: Joanne Sanders, Peter Bertoni, Gemma Harris, Anthony Campanella , Jessica Branch, David Matters and Pam Ennor. #lctcmemories #season2020 #lctc2011 #upforgrabs #davidwilliamson #rebeccagreensill

14.01.2022 Next up, we'd like you to meet Sarah Edwards. Sarah has contributed to Lane Cove Theatre Company in more ways than we can possibly name, acting, directing, out social channels, graphic design... we're sure we've missed something! When we asked her why she loves the theatre... "Community theatre makes theatre and the performing arts accessible for all. There’s often the misconception that theatre is difficult to break into for those who are not already part of the professional... industry, and that watching live theatre is something that only the very wealthy can afford. One of the things I love most about Lane Cove Theatre Company is that we give people of all walks of life the opportunity to express themselves and find joy on- and off-stage. We also make it easier for audiences to watch a great piece of theatre. Community theatre is a great equaliser, and I am proud and privileged to consider myself part of that." #LaneCoveTheatre #LCTC #LaneCoveTheatreCompany #LCTC2020 #LaneCove #ITC #InTheCove #Longueville #Communitytheatre #Local #theatre #performance #liveperformance #acting

VIEW THE TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjkLx3-hK2Y&feature=youtu.be It has been a long time since Caine, Bronson, Angus and Wendell, AKA, ‘The Chain Breakers’, escaped the torturous Vietnamese POW camp. They now find themselves sharing a new prison, The Hogan Hills Retirement Home for Returned Veterans. Each of the boys has an unrealised dream they want to achieve before it’s too late. So, once again they band together to devise a plan to escape this new hell. But the rules of engagement have changed, in fact, they can’t even remember what they were and that’s half the problem. 07.01.2022 In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.... We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. We will remember them.
