21.01.2022 Nothing about this is easy. But any time you draw a line anywhere, there will be some things on one side and some things on the other. Some people might be aski...ng 'Why five kilometres and not ten?' 'Why is X open and Y isn't?' As with everything, we're trying to get the balance right. To make things as clear as possible. And we're doing our best to maximise the public health benefits while minimising the impact on everyone's lives. But the reality is that to get to the other side of this, we have to make some big changes and some big sacrifices. Stage 4 is about dramatically limiting our movement and the contact we have with others. That's the only way this will work. I know people have questions. Hopefully this answers some of them. Please look out for each other and stay safe.

11.01.2022 It's #WildlifeWednesday and today we're taking a look at the VERY cute Superb Fairy-wren (Malurus cyaneus) At just 13-14cm high and weighing only 10 grams, S...uperb Fairy-wrens are quick moving birds, who feed on insects and other small arthropods These are caught mostly on the ground, but may also be taken from low bushes Dominant males have gleaming blue caps, backs, cheek patches, throats and chests, with grey/white under parts and a dark blue tail. While males lose their bright colours annually, they regain them in time for breeding season! (spring/summer) Females are mouse brown with washed brown throats and under parts with reddish legs. Non-breeding males have similar colouring. Females are bosses in the Superb Fairy-wren communities. Both males and females give a series of high pitched trills, however the male often extends these trills into song Superb Fairy-wrens enjoy dense, low cover habitats with areas of short grass. And remember: face coverings are in addition to washing your hands, staying home, and keeping 1.5m from other people when you're in a public place not instead of. Here are some tips.
